Panasonic NN-H264 1200...stops after 3 seconds

Panasonic NN-H264 1200...no matter what program or time is set. The microwave starts or tries to start for two to three seconds then the display clears and stops. There is power to the display and control pad. Model NN S541WF does the very same thing.

I had the same problem it was the door switches. The metal the door switches mounts on was paper thin. When you closed the door the switches would flex to the right. This made the door hard to close and the switches would not work right . The microwave would time out after 3 seconds. I removed the cover with a star bit and a Phillips screwdriver. I bent the switches back perpendicular with the front of the oven. I then cut a notch in the end of a Popsickle stick . I then put the notch against the switches where a plastic alignment piece goes through them . The other end fits into the corner side of the frame after careful measurement for length. This keeps the thin metal that the switches are mounted on from bending outward. I then dip a Qtip in Vaseline and lube the two switch arms and the switches in the door frame. Be sure the rear end of Popsickle stick is square this way it wont fall out of place. Opening and closing the door will keep a slight pressure on the stick . My microware works perfect now for over a month so far. Its been 2 years now and still works perfect.

Panasonic NN-F542BF 1300 watts microwave switches off after 3 seconds

It sounds like you were sold somebody else's problem, it could be a bad magnetron, cracked high voltage diode, and a shorted high voltage capacitor to name a few. I recommend a professional if you feel it is worth getting checked.

I have a Panasonic microwave convection that runs for 2 or 3 seconds, then cuts off. It doesn't matter what setting or length of time you program into it, it will run a couple of seconds and shut down. Is...

See if this describes what's happening:
  • Put in time, push start and unit runs for 2 seconds, relay clicks, unit goes off. Cook time on display goes off and clock time comes back. Bad upper interlock switch and charred connector
If so, see http://207.234.249.73/mwd/safety.txt , http://207.234.249.73/mwd/disassembly.txt and http://207.234.249.73/mwd/doorsw.txt

Otherwise, if the digital programmer circuit / controller does not get a feedback signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will stop the cook cycle.

That may be a loose connection in the wiring between the inverter, magnetron, and/or control board, or maybe one of those components has failed.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

How do I get my Panasonic Inverter microwave out of demo mode? I think my toddler might have hit something to put it in demo!

Hello Two options to try: a) Press the Clock / Timer button 3 times b) Unplug, wait a few seconds, then re-plug to power up with the factory settings. You will need to reset your clock and any favourite settings.
This should work with all Panasonic Microwave models.
Good luck

If the Child Lock is enabled it displays the word :CHILD".

To disable this feature on my microwave the manual says to

Check your manual for the Child Lock.
