I have a lenovo 3000 j115 series (7387-a11). i started having problems starting up my computer, i had to press and hold ctrl. alt. delete until i got a screen to change various settings. then i would load the default start settings and exit then my computer would start. this got worse and i started having to hold those keys down several times before my computer would start. so i decieded to install a new version of windows xp 32 bit with sp2. before i did this i downloaded the drivers i thought would be neccessary for my system from the lenovo website. i saved them on a flash drive. after i wiped the hdd i installed the new version of windows xp. then started my computer. i let the installation complete. then i plugged in my flash drive and copyed the downloaded driver files and began to install them. things seemed to be going fine until here. after installing the first driver i did (audio soundmax) my computer askes me if i want it to restart, so say yes. since then i havent gotten past the cntl alt delete part nothin works. please help.
Try this:
1. Boot the computer using the XP CD. You may need to change the
boot order in the system BIOS. Check your system documentation
for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.
2. When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the
options below This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft Windows XP to run on your computer:
To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.
To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.
3. Press Enter to start the Windows Setup.
do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the
Recovery Console, press R", (you do not want to load Recovery
Console). I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP
installation using the Recovery Console, press R".
4. Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing
Windows installations.
5. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and
press R to start the repair. If Repair is not one of the options,
read the Warning listed later!!
6. Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot.
When your system reboots, Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears.
Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your
applications and settings will remain intact.
I THINK WHAT EVER YOU HAD ON THE FLASH DRIVE CORUPT THE NEW INSTALL.
YOU TRY TO DO A RESTORE TO A PREVAUSE
DAY OR YOU HAVE TO DO TO DO A TOTAL NEW INSTALL ON THE HARD DRIVE.

Just to clarify, what settings did you change when you pressed Ctrl-Alt-Del before? Based on what you've said, I'd try booting into Safe Mode (press F8 after the BIOS screen, before the Windows logo) and removing the driver through Device Manager.
