Message Indicator Light Continues to Flash

I have an office that has 5 RCA 4-Line Intercom Speaker Phones (model 25414Re3A) 2 of these 5 phones the message indicator light continues to flash when they don't have any voice mail messages. AT&T has been contacted and cleared the lines and state that they both have the Message Indicator feature on the lines. When we take one of those phones and move it to another office with no message, the light still flashes. If we plug a known working phone to where one with a flashing light is, it doesn't flash. That being said, we have determined it is definitely hardware related. Does anyone know how to "reset" these phones to the factory defaults? We've taken the batteries out and left unplugged for 30 minutes and still didn't fix tht issue.

Don't know about other models, but I just called RCA small business phone support (800-511-3180) to find out how to clear the message light indicator on my 25210 2-line cordless phone when it continues to blink but there is no message.

All you have to do is hold down the delete button for a few seconds and it will clear. Hope this helps someone else from going batty!

Does your phone have a feature called Leave Word Calling? That feature allows an inside caller to leave word that he called without leaving a vmail, but it turns on the message indicator light. If so, you just need to cancel the LWC feature.

How do I check L1 message waiting

I had the same issue on my RCA 25255re2 and worked with customer service at RCA. They had me hold down the delete button for 5 seconds, release the delete button, then press delete one more time. That cleared the phantom L1 message waiting issue we were having at my office

How can i transfer calls from one phone to another?

First make sure you give each phone an ID on your system. You do this by going into the menu and go to phone options then scroll down to phone ID then press the intercom station button you want assigned for this phone. To transfer call: With caller on the line just press transfer then the intercom station button of the room (intercom station) you want it transferred to. If it is not answered in 45 seconds the extension stops ringing and call is placed on hold

We are a small company and we use the rca 4-line Intercom Speakerphones. Out of 4 phones one has the intercom button that continously flashing blue and red and the intercom does not work. The other 3...

The phone may have the same extension as another phone in the system. Unplug it from the power and take out the battery for a minute. Then plug it back in. It should take a moment to find other phones on the system and assign itself an extension number.

You may also have a line reversed on that phone. Check to see if line 1 is line 1 on all of the phones. Then line 2, 3 & 4.

Another thing to check is the DSL filter. That phone may need a filter on the line to keep your DSL from interferring. If it has one replace it.

I have the AT&T Model 854 4-line phone. When the phone is plugged in the phone starts toning and won't stop.

Thats because its looking for the intercom number to be assigned. as soon as you assign one in programming it will stop.

Line 1 disconnects people on hold

Try these first and let me know
Intercom does not function correctly
• Make sure line 1 is connected properly and common to all phones on the system.
• Make sure all phone ID’s (station numbers) involved have been assigned.
Transfer does not function correctly
• Make sure receiver phones (stations) have same line connected.
Intercom indicator turns red and green alternately
• The station address needs to be re-assigned due to a duplicate station address in the system. See “Changing the Phone ID (Station Address)”.
Good luck,
Lee
