Pro-95 dual trunk-tracking handheld scanner from Radio Shack

Hi: Could you help me to eliminate those annoying beeping sounds when a frequency comes on. I went to many Radio Shack and noboby know how to use them. I had it programmed and I need to stop the hissing and beeping sounds. It did work right before my husband hit a wrong key and messed up the whole scanner. It is programmed but needs adjustment for those sounds. Please help me. Gloria Manchester, NH e-mail [email protected]

I just brought it back to Radio Shack and finally after 3 weeks I found someone there who reprogram my scanner the original way(the way it was,) and no more beeping. They use scanscat for my county. It's OK now, but I wish I could have more frequencies with my surrounding towns. I am not touching the scanner for I might screw it up.

Thanks for your help and reply.

Firstly make sure the "squelch" is set as per the manual (link below) page 26. http://support.radioshack.com/support_electronics/doc69/69487.pdf If that fails I suggest initializing the scanner to factory defaults as below:

You say not helpful but leave no comment? Did you initialize the scanner? Please try & describe the problem a little more.

I have a pro 95 dual trunk scanner & it says all

  • Hi, I can help.

  • You probably have all frequencies in that bank locked out and all other banks locket out as well so you are seeing "All Ranges Locked Out."

  • You should be able to just push the number of the bank you want to have active again and activate it. If you have locked out some frequencies just press "MAN" for manual and scroll up and down through all the frequencies and hit "L/O" and the L/O will change to l/o (lower case letters) indicating the frequency is no longer locked. This has to be done manually for every frequency as there is no "master unlock" function on this scanner.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Cannot recieve new Motorla trunking Feq after system upgrade on my Pro 95 scanner. What can I do?? Thanks, Ron

Hi.

They probably went into a digital trunking system. Your Pro-95 will only handle Edacs, Type I and II standard trunking.

Or they changed the trunking voice frequencies and the data (control channel) frequency.

Which system are you trying to listen to? Which city area ??

How do I program it for triple truncking?

There is no such thing as "dual trunking" or "triple trunking." Such terms are used by manufacturers to indicate the number of trunking systems that a scanner is capable of monitoring. The PRO-95 is designated as a Dual Trunk-Tracking scanner because it is capable of monitoring both Motorola and EDACS systems. Programming a trunking system in to a scanner is a detailed process that requires a bit of research.

For details on active trunking systems in your area, and a lot of other useful scanning information, visit:

www.RadioReference.com

Once you have the system information you can follow the programming steps outlined in your scanner's operating instructions. If you don't already have the manual, you can download and print it here:

Want to no how to program scanner to pick up phone calls. radioshack-pro/95 dual-trunking.

Sorry, but it can't be done, for at least two reasons. Cellular bands are out of the tuning range of your scanner, and it cannot be modified to receive the cellular frequencies. Virtually all cellular signals are now digital, and the PRO-95 is an analog-only scanner.

Pro 95 dual trunk tracking scanner just stays on channel 3 does not scan up to the other 10 channels

the manual at "http://support.radioshack.com/manuals/ome20-525.pdf" (if you don't have it)
says that you may be in manual mode OR that the channel at 3 might be a "trunk guide", that means that the channel is used to send out digital permissions to the system for each radio in the unit(s) to use a certain freq. when they transmit. good luck!

Pro-95 dual trunktracking handheld scanner

the beep are known as "over beeps", they are generated at the end of a transmission by the transmitting raido to signal that the user has taken his or her finger off the transmit button and has ended transmission, like how they used to say "over". as for the hissing, have you tried adjusting the squelch?

To stop beeping sounds

Good day Gloria, Here is a parts list, http://support.radioshack.com/support_electronics/doc68/68646.htm refrence part number 12392288 COVER ASSY BATTERY, you can go to your local Radioshack and they can order this. Tell them that it is an RSU order, ask for a manager if they don't know what your talking about. That is a special wharehoues that they have for parts. Newly hired associated usually don't have a clue that it exists. Or call 1800-843-7422(1-800-the-shac) to order, they may redirect your call to a local store. Follow this link for the manual, http://support.radioshack.com/manuals/ome20-525.pdf After skimming the manual my self I couldn't find much on the beep issue. It is possible that that beep is coming from the transmission you are recieving, does it that on all frequency's, or just certain ones? Keep in mind that that could also be a weatherband alert tone. I'm not sure, well I hope this helps in someways, If all else fails read pg 83 of the manual to reset the unit. Good Luck
