First disconnect power at breaker. Next disconnect power cord from the bottom side of disposal. Next, loosen large nut holding disposal in place under sink. Next, you will loosen bolts for frame and the rest is just removing small parts. The first 3-4 steps are crucial especially with power. You will find during this process the plumbing which is attached to a parallel plastic pipe. You will want to disconnect this right after you disconnect the power cord from the disposal. This will give you room to work a little more freer.

There is anail stuck inthe garbage disposal we can see it but it is stuck or bent in the side where the wholes are we cant seemto be able to move it it must be bent or stuck how do we get at it?
Turn power off.
Buy new disposal to have on-hand in event that nail cannot be removed.
Loosen 2 nuts on p-trap to disconnect disposal from tubular drain.
Remove disposal from sink attachment.

Once disposal is removed, there will be easier access to nail.
Use channel locks, vice grips, or any gripping tool to twist or bend nail.
Try to rotate cutter disk with allen wrench on bottom, or wood stick from above.

My garbage disposal does not have an electric on off switch it is turned on and off by inserting the drain stopper and removing it, I have removed the drain stopper but the in sinkerator continues to run.

Stopped up garbage disposal. no grinding action when turned on
Hello there:
you will need to make sure that all of the hoses from the unit are free of debris first ok
than if you need to remove the blade assembly and clean out the area around the unit and than reassemble the blades and see what happnes ok if not you will need to remove the entire unit and see what is making the unit malfunction. ok

My quiet partner 4 will no longer drain, I recently replaced my garbage disposal & the problem began after that.
There is a plug you have to remove on the garbage disposal where you hook up the washer drain hose.

Check the instructions with the disposal.

You'll have to deinstall the garbage disposal, remove this plug and reinstall.

Having problem with wireless smoke detector on my NX-8. Is deleting current program and reprogramming the way to go? I have a NX-8 system and finally the smoke detector bit the dust. (GE Caddx now Interlogix, 22 years old). I bought a replacement smoke detector but could not get it to communicate. Now I just want to disable this zone so it stops beeping at me. I set the zone (#16) to zero, rebooted the system, tried *7 and nothing works. It only beeps at night, but it beeps all night; the error message is always there though, but NOT the fire light.. My best thought now is to uninstall and reinstall the software so that it looks for all new zones and will not see it. Not sure how to do that though. Anyone have a better suggestion?

The HC is in a superior position. The problem I have is that originally, OFF position is 6 o'clock and full hot is at 9 o'clock. Now off is at noon, full hot at 6, and full cold at 9.
