We canot find a part: the plastic cover the light bulbs

The hooks of the plastic cover are broken, and we have tried to find the replacement at Sears Canada. They gave us a Sears parts phone number but because we did not buy there they can't help. The store where we purchased it was a bbq and other items store that is closed.
Can you help us find this part? We don't know where to look.

Thanks,

How do I replace sears side light bulb on door opener

To replace the bulb you have to remove the plastic cover which is held on with tabs and one or two sheet metal screws (usually on the top of the unit). The bulb is in a standard light socket. It is best to replace it with a bulb that resists vibration such as a ceiling fan bulb.

My 19 year old kitchenaid kbrs21k refrigerator still works fine BUT when i recently crammed too much stuff onto the top shelf i must have broken the plastic light cover which fell on top of the light bulb....

Take the bulb out and check the continuity. Then you should know if there is a fuse that needs replacing. If all is well make sure your new bulb doesn't have a bad element.

The light diffuser cover is broken. The model number of the range hood is HO60488. The range hood dates back to possibly the late 1950's when the house was built.

When faced with the total unavailability of replacement parts, its time to get creative, and make your own diffuser cover. Flat ones
can be easily made - find anything plastic that's semi-translucent (like a plastic milk bottle), and cut it with a utility knife.
I have also used a utility knife to cut a polystyrene diffuser cover
originally intended for a 2-ft x 4-ft suspended ceiling fluorescent light fixture.
In case the diffuser cover you make wants to burn when placed close to a light bulb, replace the bulb with a CFL (compact fluorescent) bulb, which run MUCH cooler than incandescent light bulbs.
Old lampshades can be cut and used, but may need to be ironed flat. The major advantage of lampshade material is that
it can be folded over at the edge once or twice, which will fill space - and possibly hold the cover where a plastic sheet might be too loose.
You'll know that your efforts have met with success when you can easily remove your ne diffuser cover to replace the light bulb.

How do I change the rear break light?

How to Replace a Tail, Brake or Reverse Light writer_avatar.gif Contributor By eHow Contributing Writer Article Rating: stars_3_20.gif (70 Ratings) replacelight_hero.jpg Fix that broken tail light. Replacing a dead bulb on your car is almost as easy as replacing a light bulb at home. jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Rubber Gloves
  • Automotive Light Bulbs
  • Red Tape
  • Cleaning Cloths
  • Rags
  • Screwdriver Sets
  1. Step 1 Determine how the bulb is accessed: On some models the lens (the red or white plastic part over the light) must be unscrewed from the outside, and on others the bulb is accessible only from inside the trunk. If there are no screws on the lens, you can assume that the bulb must be replaced from inside. Usually there will be a plastic cover that must be removed in order to access the bulb. There may be tabs, screws or small knobs that hold this plastic cover in place.
  2. Step 2replacelight_2s.jpg Unscrew the lens on the outside, or take off the plastic cover from inside the trunk, to reveal the bulb.
  3. Step 3replacelight_3s.jpg Unscrew the bulb. You'll have to push in and turn at the same time.
  4. Step 4 Take the bulb with you to the auto supply store to help you find an exact duplicate.
  5. Step 5replacelight_5s.jpg Clean the connection with a wire brush and/or wipe it clean with a rag if there's any corrosion.
  6. Step 6replacelight_6s.jpg Screw the new bulb into the empty socket. Again, you'll have to push in and turn simultaneously. Line up the tiny raised bumps on the base of the bulb in order to screw it in.
  7. Step 7 Replace the lens or the plastic cover.

How to replace the headlight bulb on 2006 C280?

1. Figure out best way to light the tight area to see.
2.look directly behind the light headlight bulb under hood. You will see a round black plastic cover ...Pull it off. Remind yourself how it came off. It will hook into the bottom and snap back in nicely when you are finished.
3, Do NOT pull off wire connector yet. Note/feel how secure it is for when you replace new bulb.
4. On the outside perimeter of the backside of bulb housing you will see a black plastic round ring (this holds the bulb in)...(there are 2 finger tabs...one for clockwise, 1 for counter clockwise). There is hardly any play to either way...push gently Counter-Clockwise to allow bulb loose.
5. Pull Bulb with wires still attached straight out slowly and see how you will reinsert new one.
6. Have new bulb ready...don't touch bulb glass. Pull off wire connector.
7. Put new bulb on exactly same way onto wire connector
8. Gently house the bulb back the way it came in and hold flush.
9. Now push outer black plastic tab clockwise to hold in bulb...bulb should be as secure as before you took it out.
10.Test Light
11. Put on round black plastic back housing with hooks inserted into 2 two holes on the bottom and press top back its connector and you will hear a secure click.
12. You are done...have a beer...congratulate yourself. Tom.

Broken door hook

The plastic cover on the inside of the door is purely push fit.
To force it off I used 2 strong stainless steel dinner knives.
By easing one knife between the internal glass and the plastic cover I managed to spring one corner by using the other knife on the external bottom edge of the plastic cover.
Try concentrating on one end and once this springs out it is easy to free the rest without having to take it off completely.
The hook is simple to do but be careful with the spring.
All in all it took 3 minutes!
