Hi im joe,
Regarding your concern the ET 3000 magic sing does not have background vocals at all. The manufacturer design the magic sing for sing along purposes only but they are now improving there future products to have that feature with background vocals.

How do i get vocals louder then background sounds?

if you are watching a movie or such ,the you can't as that is how it is transmitted or produced
for many years now movie producers over ride vocals or words with back ground music and it is extremely distracting

Using a Tascam US 122 with Cubase SX, when recording vocals red light (clipping) on the Tascam and in the Cubase mixer, I need to know how to set levels on Tascam, so there will be no clipping on vocal...

Make sure the switch is set to "mic/line" and not "guitar"
Your input level will be set by the "input L" or "input R" knob, depending on which side you are using. Start with them all the way down and then sing into the mic, turning them up until you get a signal about halfway up the bar in Cubase. That should give you plenty of headroom for clean vocals.
It may be difficult to get a good sound if you have one of those cheap mics that has a "1/4" jack instead of a 3-pin XLR jack. You might want to go to your local music/pro audio store and invest in a "condenser" microphone, which is good for vocals in the studio.

I want to record vocal voice trhought mic on psr 9000

You could record short "samples" to be used in building new voices, however, it does NOT appear that you can record a vocal song with the PSR9000. The Tyros II and III have the capability to record vocals but the PSR9000 and Tyros I do not..

When playing back an arrangement, you can re-sing the song and have the vocal harmonizer track the arrangement.

Lead vocal

There's a multiplex button (MPX maybe) on the left front of the player. By hitting it you get leads only, background only or both. Be sure, though, you have a multiplex CD. Otherwise you'll only have background and no lead. I learned the hard way. Watch or scan for multiplex or lead vocals. Good luck...

Vocal problem

hi there..if there is video and background audio coming out from the TV, and no voice recognition from the mic- then mic is the problem. I believed the problem is the "voice coil". This is a part that can be replaced- you can contact me and we can repair that.

two ways to check
remove the mic ball
the part which the mic ball is is covering is the voice coil.
try holding both terminals (black and white wire)- if there is feedback sound- it is open and need to be replaced
try using your tester- test the impedance- there should be 500- 600 ohms reading
