Peace,
ngafm here at your service,

How old is the range ?
You may have some food that spilled into the burner and it could be causing the gas not to fully flow out of that burner so
it will come out with force.
If you have sealed burners and the cap and burner where the gas comes out, is removable by hand without tools!
You may want to check the gas holes in the removable burner is clear and or clean them out if they are clogged.
How old is the range?
I hope that these measures will help you remedy the problem simply and easily!
Bless you,
ngafm

SOURCE: Maytag Gas Oven top burner does not turn on when in bake mode

That is the way it works. If you have an convection oven then they both work in bake mode but they alternate between the two.

SOURCE: I have a Maytag gas range model #CHG9800BAB. The

It is confirmed by you that therre is no gas flow .
So this is the critical missing link to the fault.
We must trace the flow of the gas from the front regulator valve . So using a good air jet, if you can get compressed air to blow into the pipes , it will be helpful. so open the gas inlet and check flow till the valve. Now check the flow from the valve to the ovenflow pipe.
if there is no air coming through use a thin wire to puch in for removing dirt / rust.Blown it out.
Check if the nozzle jet is blocked in the valve assembly through which the gas comes in. USe a thin needle to clean the jet.
Once you have established a clean flow of air , put back all the removed parts and connect the gas.
It must work for sure..

How to replace a surface burner ignighter on my Jen-Air Gas Convection Range JGRP536.

Replacing a surface burner igniter on a Jen-Air Gas Convection Range JGRP536 can be done by following these steps:
  1. Turn off the gas supply to the range.
  2. Lift up the cooktop and locate the igniter that needs to be replaced.
  3. Remove the screws that secure the igniter bracket to the burner assembly.
  4. Carefully lift the igniter bracket off the burner assembly and disconnect the wires from the igniter.
  5. Remove the old igniter from the bracket and discard it.
  6. Install the new igniter onto the bracket and connect the wires to the new igniter.
  7. Reinstall the igniter bracket onto the burner assembly and secure it with the screws.
  8. Lower the cooktop back into place.
  9. Turn the gas supply back on and test the new igniter to make sure it is functioning properly.
Note: It is important to make sure the replacement igniter matches the specifications of the original igniter for proper function and safety. If you are not comfortable with performing this task, it is recommended to seek the assistance of a qualified technician.

I have a Thermador PRSE304SLP 4 burner stove. The front burner on the left will not ignite. It does have spark. All the little holes are clear in the cap/cover.Everything is dry. It’s been like this for...

you hear clicking and see sparks as you turn the burner knob, and can smell that gas is flowing okay, but the fire won’t ignite, it’s possible that the gas feed is cloggedThis is a super quick and easy fix – simply lift off the grate (make sure it’s cool to the touch), take off the burner cap, and lift the burner out from the range top. For some models, you may need to unscrew the two screws holding the burner in place – for this, a regular nut driver or socket wrench will do the trick.Have a look at the small, nearly pin-sized hole in the back of the burner. This feeds the gas through to the igniter to get the fire lit, and can frequently get blocked up with grease or any other kind of debris. Just give the burner a thorough clean, sticking a toothpick, needle, or other similarly sized tool through the hole to clear it up, and pop it back on to your stovetop. The gas should feed through and the burner should light as usual.

Frigidaire gas range20164 top burners/When rite front burner is turned on/ gas will come/igniter will not click /but can lite with a match ?

I suggest you lift off the burner ring and ensure there is no foreign matter in the area of the igniter. Observe whether the is a spark when you press the button to light the gas. It is possible that the ignition plug has failed, therefor you will need to purchse a replacement.

Why do I smell gas when the hoses are good?

That stove has sealed burners. It is not uncommon for folks to try and raise the top and when they do they break the lines on the front to the front sealed burners. To lift the top ya must twist each burner a quarter turn then get it out far enough to remove the screws which hold the burner tubing in place. Once them screws is removed you can lift and look for leaks. I have also seen places where the oven tubing bends get a small leak down to the oven valve. One more thang to look for is a dim ignitor. if it is dim and weak it might be allowing a tiny amount of gas to come out before ignition. Bubble test for leaks you must!!

Front burner will not light the igniter is good it woks in the other burner and i put a good igniter in the burner and it will not work

What happens when you use a long match or a long butane lighter? Does the gas ignite?

Since the igniter is working in another burner, then either the gas isn't getting to the burner (sealed burner blocked), the spark is being blocked or the electrical connection to the igniter is bad.

Take apart the burner and clean the openings. Make sure that the hole in the part that slides over the electrode is clear (use a needle or the wire from a twist-tie). See page 28 of the manual. (available online from http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/ . Enter the model and click submit). Make sure you replace the parts of the burner correctly.

My range also has an orifice at each burner that could be blocked. Turn off the gas before investigating this. Look at the instructions for converting the range from NG to LP - this should be attached to the back of the range near the regulator. This will tell you how to access the orifice and what size wrench to use. I believe my range uses 10 mm.

To check the wiring, you may need to lift the cook top. Often the top is secured with clips on the left and right sides.

I hope this helps.

2 out of the 4 gas burners will not ignite. I cannot figure out how to get the stove top off to chedk igniters.

Generally it lifts from the front upward, while being somewhat hinged at the back of the range. This is not really a snap connection but rather it generally will only sit there kind loose.

Frgidaire Pro series gas range not lighting on one burner

there is probably some residue keeping it from sparking. look at 1 of the other burners and take mental note from where the spark is coming from. then spray just a little oven cleaner on and around the one not working. naturally take the metal grid off first.. let set for about 15 min. then wipe away the residue gently as not to damage the igniter electrode.. also there is a possibility the wire leading to the igniter fell off causing this problem.. do the explained first. good luck...

Front burners on gas range won't light.

My GE gas range is really sensitive about the gap between the igniter electrode and the metal disc that covers the burner. If the metal disc is slightly off-center, no spark will occur. Check to make sure that the gap between the igniter and the nearest metal is about the same as the back burner.
