The
first thing I would suggest is a hard
reset. Unplug the unit for a
minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.
If that doesn't work,
leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes and try again.
If it still doesn't work, then your membrane keypad has failed.
If the keypad is available separately and you (or someone you
know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically
involved.
If this model's keypad is not available separately, you would need to order the control panel frame, which comes with a new keypad.
In this case, you simply
move your circuit board into the new frame. That is a simple do-it-yourself
job.
At
our Web site, we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.
Some connectors on the relays may have a lock:

It sounds like your keypad or controller may have failed. This is a problem with the control panel assembly, which we repair nationwide for $39.95 in most cases. Full details are at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
SOURCE: Over the range Microwave trouble
It is a door switch problem of some sort. I have two Sharp R-1611 units that do the same thing. The light and fan come on, but not the heat, thank goodness.
I am going to replace it since the plastic for the case and door is cracked in numerous places. I have spent several hours researching microwaves online have not a single clue what to replace the Sharp with. Seems like every vendor has very good units and very bad units. I guess you just pay your money and take your chances.

The keypad assembly circuit board has to be changed, or the main controler board has a failure and has to be serviced, or if not servicable, it has to be changed.

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, a failing keypad, or occasionally a problem on the control panel.
Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.
Door
switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by
opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
There
are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches
and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.
The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.
Sometimes
it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate
just out of position. Other times, it's a broken tab on the switch
holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab
can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.
One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.

you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical
information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and

There may also
be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or
hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when
troubleshooting & testing.
