Hi, The driver present in the cd supplied with your printer may not have driver for windows vista. So download the driver for it from the below link by selecting your operating system.
Your printer most likely requires Vista compatible drivers to run properly. If you still have the CD that came with the printer, look through it to see if there is a Vista driver. If not, go to the following link and download your driver.
You don't need the drivers, only for Windows 98SE to Windows XP, Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X, and Linux. Vista is 100% compatible with the HP PSC 750. Windows XP, same thing as Vista, but XP still needs the drivers to work, or not. Source: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00814685&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=57769&lang=en displays which type of printers are 100% supported for Windows Vista & higher.
In this case, there's no mystery as to the cause of the problem. You will be unable to use this printer with your operating system because there are no existing print drivers that work with 64 bit Vista. Your printer will work with Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows XP, but not with Vista at all.
You have only two options...use a different HP printer that will work with Vista, or get a PC that has one of the supported operating systems on it and connect your current printer to that PC.
Sorry. I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but that's the best I can do until the proper drivers become available.
The 5610 is compatible with windows vista, but you may have a bought an older version that does not come with the vista install media. You may have to go to hp.com to download the updated vista drivers, and any firmware updates that it may need.
I have my HP OfficeJet T45xi working with Vista Ultimate. I used a cable coverter to switch to USB. I must install the printer with the USB cord unattached. Install as T40xi whose driver comes with Vista. Set to USB port 1 or 2. Plug USB into USB port 1 or 2 (only ones of six USB ports that worked for me). When Windows discovers the printer do not let it install the printer and tell it to not try again.
you can download the new software driver for windows vista at HP's website, but if HP doesnt develop the driver for vista yet for your printer model, well all you can do is that you downgrade your PC into windows XP for you to use that printer again.
