White dotted vertical lines going from top to bottom. It is a 32" Samsung tv. Only a couple years old. Started with a couple lines now there's about 10 or so. Happens on any source going to tv. It is plugged into a surge protector. Could a bad surge protector cause this or is it the tv. Thanks

My Samsung was fixed for "free." Call Samsung service 800 number. When asked why you are calling tell them it is about the white dots problem. The tech said he would help me solve the issue and provide me with repair order from a local Electronics dealer. I was given a work order number by the tech and did receive a call from the local repair organization. My DLP is over 36 months old so I asked if this was a "no charge" fix. He assured me that it is. Low and behold I am 100% satisfied with Samsung and the standing behind the product. The fix is a chip replacement that Samsung is well aware of.

This problem is normally the Vertical filter capacitors. You need to have them changed before it burns out the Vertical Chip.
