We recently bought an R$ card and loaded games onto it. it worked fine for a week but now just comes up with loading and goes no further. We bought another R4 card and this does the same.

Did you recently get a new DS console or anything like that? Otherwise, it looks like you may have bought a not-original R4 card. You should return it to the shop you bought it from and ask about it.
If you are looking for a reliable place to buy DS and DSi cards from that will stock originals, I'd recommend using http://www.NDS-Gear.com (I've used them myself). They test every card before sending which means you won't receive dud cards, and more importantly they have support before AND after your purchase by people who reply very quickly and in perfect English. Some of these dodgy websites take 4-6 weeks to deliver and never answer e-mails, so I'm glad these guys are different. Oh, and they guarantee to dispatch by the next working day, which always helps with speed and all. And they're recommended by a lot of the DS card help sites, too.
the problem will be the R4 or depends where you get ur games from, you should visit www.jacksgamenewsandreviews.synthasite.com
there is also a repaire service, i might have a blunt idea for you, what does it say on the end of the ds roms any other questions email me at [email protected]
