Can't load updated ThinkCentre BIOS

I downloaded the updated 2EJY46USA BIOS from Lenovo. When I try to install it (run: C:\LENOVO\FLASH\2EJY46USA\WINPHLASH.EXE as per the accompanying directions, I get a message: 'can't load c:\lenovo\flash\2ejy46usa\phlashnt.sys' with a reference to needing administrator privileges and 'Access is denied. Error code 5'. I have them and am the only user on this computer. I run Windows 8 Pro with more than ample free HD and RAM. I tried turning the antivirus off, but it makes no difference. Any suggestions?

Needless to say I am kicking myself, as I should have thought of that myself. Thank you for you suggestion, and it worked fine. I had only tried it using the Run command, but by going to the actual file using Explorer and doing what you suggested, all is now well. Thanks again.

Try right clicking the EXE and running it as an administrator.

SOURCE: lenovo thinkcentre a51 reboots with several beeps

Your problem is hardware-related. Either memory or power supply.

Remove the memory and add back one at-a-time and boot to see which one (if any / either) is bad.

If not, the second culprit is the power supply, which would need to be replaced.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: i want lenovo thinkcentre ethernet controller

Always get your drivers and specific software from the manufacturer of your Laptop, Notebook or Desktop.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, usually one is able to download if available, by model number, All available Driver downloads as required.

If the driver is not available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are installing.

This is the best way of ensuring up to date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!

There are no XP drivers to be found with Microsoft as XP is no longer supported.

Some manufacturers may have a limited number of Drivers still listed.

I hope this helps.

I want bios update my IBM Lenovo 7298 pc

Hi
If you go to the page below there are many options for installing a BIOS update.
Desktops and all in ones ThinkCentre Series desktops ThinkCentre M58e...

There are also various utilities to help you upgrade the BIOS, including one for upgrading from within Windows. You should make sure that you have a full backup of your data and programmes before you start. Please make sure that the version here is an upgrade compared with your current version and that you read the instructions very carefully and are comfortable with them as incorrectly upgrading, or interrupting the upgrade can lead to your machine refusing to boot at all from anything. Please be careful.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

Update driver Phoenix FirstBios(tm) Desktop Pro Version 2.0 for IBM ThinkCentre

Log on to Lenovo.com and download the drivers and install instructions. It's pretty easy. Just DO NOT stop it once you start it. Let it run to completion. If you stop it, you will corrupt your BIOS and your system will not start. So, just let it run to completion.

Hi, I have Lennovo E8400, needed drivers

The same model ThinkCentrecan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkCentre, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers foryour model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true
