I can't even access my startup menu button. It seems like it have extended off of the screen. I have tried changing the resolution, dpi, and the hrtz
Thank you very much for your comment. I have replugged it in several times and it still does not work.
Additional information:
My previous LCD was a WSXGA+ but I bought a WXGA LCD. Does that affect it in anyway? The cable also says WSXGA (not WSXGA +) but fits perfectly with the WXGA LCD and I have also seen cables sold as WXGA and WSXGA cables. Thank you very much for your help.

I am currently running windows XP and have a Go 7800 GTX graphics card. I downgraded my cracked wsxga+ screen to a wxga+. No matter what i do with the resolution, dpi, refresh rate, the image on my screen it stretched out past my actual veiw. The bottom start bar is cutt off and the right of the screen is aswell. Is it even possible to downgrade like this? The new screen is running on a wsxga cable. Thank you so much for your help!

Yes I have tried downloading new graphics drivers but to no avail. Tried changing to every resolution setting possible including the one from the link you have sent me.
I bought the LCD from an ebay shop and he claims to receive 500 emails a day and he can't possibly reply to all of them.

I think what you might have to do is contact the manufacturer and see if there are any display settings that need to be changed or any new drivers like i suggested earlier

can you plug in another monitor to the video plug on the side of your laptop?
if the monitor works but your laptop screen stays dark your laptop screen needs to be replaced .
If the monitor is also dark then the LCD screen is ok but the inverter needs to be replaced
lcd connect to laptop
inverter

Windows is treating the "internal" screen as separate from your "external" screen,
i.e., you've seen computer-geeks with two side-by-side screens, with the Windows Desktop
spanning both screens. With a bit of "tuning", you can nominate the "external" screen as the "primary" screen, and thus see the Windows Desktop (which currently is showing on the "internal" screen). Or, for about $100 plus $60 labour, replace the LCD screen on your laptop with a "pre-owned" LCD screen.
It indeed is a fairly easy repair in case of your Acer. However you will need a replacement screen which would cost a lot if you order it new. You might be better off searching ebay for a broken "donor" laptop (make sure it's exactly the same model, as even similar models with same screen dimensions might have different connectors or inverters - I learned the hard way ;)
its the liquid crystal display fluroscent backlit, its probably cracked, damage, or not connected right, you have to take apart the display and remove it or connect it right.

Sorry I'm such an idiot it's a WXGA+ not a WXGA
