I have a coleman powermate generator and it will not rev up enough to produce power to run electrical items. It will kick the reset button.
SUBURA COLEMAN GENERATOR RUNS FINE..IT RAN OUT OF GAS AND MY UNCLE FILLED IT UP AND RESTARTED IT..HOWEVER HE LEFT EVERYTHING PLUGGED..LATER ON, WE NOTICED IT STOPPED SENDING ELECTICAL CURRENT TO THE PLUGS..DOES IT HAVE A FUSE OR DID SOMETHING POSSIBLE BURN OUT...HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO TAKE THE COVER OFF TO SEE
Hi there,
Check the air cleaner to make sure that it isn't clogged with oil. If you find any significant amount of oil you may also need to clean the carb. Also check the spark plugs for fouling. Once you're convinced that the engine has no service related issues, check the governed throttle setting. To do this find the spring that pulls on the governor arm and look for either a tab to bend up or a threaded rod to tighten at the end of the spring not connected to the governor arm.
Regards,
Carl
