I have tried everything but I simply cannot scan any photos on this machine. What could possibly be the problem. Are there any simple instruction on how to do this? I need help!!!!!!

To scan an
original, from the front panel, to your Windows computer
1. Load your
original on the glass.
2. Press Scan,
if not already lit.
3. Press Start
Black or Start Color.
A scan of
the original appears in the HP Image Viewer.

4. In the HP
Preview window, you can edit the scanned image. When you
have
finished, click Accept.
As long as you have downloaded the software that came with printer and installed the printer with an usb cable, it should be really easy such as just hitting the scan button and it will pull up the pic after scanning.
