We are having trouble forwarding our Netgear Range Max Router
if you click on the following link on our website
http://70.177.13.75/LoanServicingSystem/index.php
It should display the application page.
70.177.13.75 is the static ip address for our router
which has been programed to forward
service http on port 80 to a database
server on our local area network.
It works for all computers on our local area network
but not for "outside" users. They get a page could
not be displayed message.
Any ideas on how to solve this
Thanks
Bob

The best way to test this is to forward it to a test webpage on another PC or server first to make sure it is working correctly, before trying the unix/linux php server.
In my experience external addresses do not work internally, unless you have your ISP allocate you moe than one external static ip
Please post your results, the provider and whether you already have multiple static ip addresses purchased
Yes I understand the question.
You could allocate static IP addresses if you have them from your provider and turn off NAT
However to solve this problem with forwarding put a test html page in the root public_html on the database server and i'll try and access it.
If it's working internally then it could be a firewall on your router or on the server itself blocking that port
eg. index.html

Usually answered in minutes!
the problem is not internally but externally.
For example if you go to our website
http://www.21stcenturycompany.com
click on loan systems in the orange box in the upper left corner
Scroll down to Web System Demo and click on the blue button
This link is directed to our netgear router which has been programmed to forward incoming requests on port 80
to display the application page. As you will see, the forwarding is not working.
Found the problem. ISP is blocking http on port 80.
changed the link to port 88 and its working fine now.
