I think the actual model number for this is RL170AT

This is a DESA manual but the same exact model except for the name:

Over the years DESA INTERNATIONAL has manufactured kerosene heaters with the following brand names and Reddy Parts stocks parts for them all:

SOURCE: Reddy Heater 170T works fine with the cover off

First, heaters with Hot Surface Ignitor technology MUST have the air pump pressure set to factory specs. The onboard computer will not allow any deviation. Proper fuel delivery depends on it.

Now, if the pump pressure is correct, there are no leaks between the pump and the nozzle and no vac leaks on the fuel line, the 90% of the time the problem is a worn nozzle. Desa recommended annual replacement of the nozzle simply because of the wear factor.

I have a problem with my reddy heater 170t. it fires up runs untill it reaches set temp.but when it goes to restart the motor runs bacwards?after i manualy turn it off/on 2-3times it fires back up...

The thermostat is not the problem. The motor has a starter capacitot attached that gives the motor a burst of energy to get it going the right direction. It is not doing its job. The motor must be replaced.

Hi, If this heater is the Reddy 170,000 b.t.u. heater, model # 170t professional series, then yes you can.It is a multi-fuel heater. Fuels it can use are Kerosene, JP8, Jet A fuel, 1&2 Diesel fuel, and 1&2 fuel oil. It must be this model 170T.

Won't light

Are the ignitors intact? In other words, does the element make a loop back to the ceramic portion. The purpose of the LED is to notify the user of a defective ignitor. The other possibility is a bad control board.

If the ignitor is intact, but no power coming from the board (ignitor only glows for 5 seconds), then the board is bad or the fuse is blown. You might want to test the photocell while you are at it.

You will need to locate the correct model numbers to order the correct parts. "170T" & "125T" are only part of the correct model designation.
