No sound Goodmornong, I bought a Denon AVR 2802 = AVR 982 which doesn't make no sound even if the commands seem to work properly. No sound from loudspeakers, nor from the headphones. When the built-in tuner is selected, the tape-out RCA give the analog R and L signals, but nothing is ampified. I tried analog inputs and digital optical and coax input, but nothing comes out, and nothing seems to even be detected. I have tried the reset-2-factory procedure, nothing changed. I have no remote control. I'm wondering if a new firmware could make me step forward. Where can I find the firmware? Every suggestion to let the AVR come back to life is welcome: I can't stand burying it ;) Thank you Marcello, Milan

SOURCE: Computer to Denon via Monster Headphone cable to V.Aux (Front) RCA inputs

Are you using a stereo-mini to RCA cable that has a red and a white RCA plug? What I mean is, you should have the one cable coming out of the headphone jack on the computer, and two (left and right) cables going to the receiver. The only other thing I can suggest is making sure the cables are tight. Maybe try another input on the receiver. There really shouldn't be any feedback unless there is some underlying problem.

SOURCE: Denon AVR-3300 Center Chanel Sound Problem

My guess is You have dried out electrolytic capacitors causing failure. These receivers when they get over 6 years old start drying out fluid in capacitors especially on regulator p.c.b. causing noisy supply lines. I work for Authorized service center in Michigan If you need repair and Shipping to Michigan is economical let me know [email protected]

SOURCE: Connecting DVD player to AV receiver

If you've done that already and still no response from your system, I would suggest to take back to the place where you bought it and ask them to check it for you. Tell them that you follow the user's manual to the "T" but still unable to make it work.
Good Luck.

SOURCE: Denon AVR-2105

If the Cd is wired digitally, it will only play through the main zone, because the Denon cannot convert down to RCA to cater for the zone 2. If you plug RCAs from Cd to Denon, Main zone will STILL play from digital, and RCA connection will allow zone 2 to play Cd from RCA input....same with dvd, Satellite Blah blah... no stress, any nasty RCA will do if you want to try before you splash out on really costly cables...perhaps you can help me...want to run AVR 2105 with 2 speakers in zone 2, manual says cant do it - only ably to surround back or biamp...dont want either, dont have stereo yet to try it out...did you have any trouble with that?

SOURCE: No sound from optical or coax digital inputs

You have to use the system setting using the remote and turn on the inputs you want to use. Hope this helps.

RE: Denon AVR 3300 - I cannot get the system setup menu to display on Phillips P50PFP5332D tv screen? All connected components work and sound great, but I cannot see Denon's Setup menu on tv to a

I understand, it's something I've misunderstood on my denon avr-790 as well when connected to a samsung 8000 series led tv.
The answer isn't in the receiver's settings (you can be on whatever source you want on the receiver end when toggling the menu). You need to toggle through the tv's sources to find the menu (usually found on hdmi 1). I've spent towards an hour recently troubleshooting only to find that it was the tv's source that wasn't set properly and I was trying to change the receiver's settings instead of the tv's source.
Hope that helps!

My Denon AVR-75 seems to stay in standby (red standby light is on) and I don'd get surround sound through it. How do I get it out of standby?

if the receiver does not power on from standby there is a problem like bad power supply or even bad macroprocessor. You need to bring it to a service center for diagnosing. 10-years old receiver, maybe better to buy new one.

zone 2 volume can be adjusted by zone2 remote control (small one which came with the unit) or by main remote control if you switch it to zone2 mode. My main rem control has a slide switch i have to put in zone 2 position to operate zone 2 amp.

I bought a Denon AVR-2807 used from eBay, I got it hooked up properly to my speakers, JBL E100 front bi-amped, JBL EC35 center and E50 rears, no subwoofer. HDMI from PS3 to Denon and HDMI from Denon to...

TMI.

This is strictly a remote control failure.

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821
They also sell replacement remotes.
Or look on eBay, usually much cheaper if available.

Another thing would be to make sure the receiver's remote eye isn't picking up infrared from anything else in the environment.

So you want to slave the 3020 to the 1082, right? Use the Pre-outs on the AVR to feed the amp. I imagine the AVR manual, which I cannot find, talks about that.

Hi, I have a denon AVR 889 about 4 years old and the subwoofer suddenly stopped working, how can i check if its the amp or the sub thats the problem?

A Denon AVR 889 is not a sub so we don't know anything about the sub in question.

Maybe the existence of the sub is no longer set in the AVR. Look at the speaker definitions first before going to wild.

Try another cable to the sub.

OR, run the sub's signal supply cable to one of the Tape Outs on the receiver and tune in something on FM. If that works a) it will be loud, and b) go back to the SUB settings on the AVR.

Crack the sub open and access the terminals on the speaker itself. Disconnect them from internal components and run one of your amp channels directly to it. If it works, the amp or signal path are dead. If it doesn't work, it's a dead driver.

Denon AVR 1804

You need to get the manual and do some reading first. I couldn't find the AVR-1804 but the AVR-1803 is avaiable. It should be close enough to get you through connection and setup.
