Usb's won't work on a T1842, all have power and I have checked all connection and downloaded drivers, device manager says that usb's are working. There are 2 in front and 4 in back. In the back is the ethernet connection with 2 of the USB's and it works. The machine is old but I want it for my grandchildren so they can play on line. The one problem that does show in the device manager is that there is a problem with the soundcard (Reatek) I do have a usb thing that I can plug in so they can get on the internet but without the usbs working I can't do that. Do they make 20 feet ethernet cords.
Hi.. even i too had the same problem.. The solution is in device manager if u select USB option u will be able to see 6 USB sub options popping down from the menu... select each option and right click it... u can see the option uninstall.. try to uninstall all the 6 ports in that device manager.. after clciking uninstall option shut down ur system and restart it again.. now ur USB ports are ready to work...
As for the 20 ft Ethernet cords, they don't make them that long but, you can buy extensions that will elongate the original cord to your specification. The usb problem you are having is due to driver failure. you will need to update these drivers using the windows update tool or, you can go to the computers main manufactures website for these critical updates as well. hope that helps ya.
Make sure if driver are properly installed...Go to bios and OPEN ALL USB PORTS...Check the USB HUB PORT IF THEY WORKING PROPERTLY!!!
