Acer aspire pc

uninstall device in device manager,restart ,if computer automatically finds new hardware cancel it,go to the acer support web site and download necessary software and drivers for vista ,and install according to instructions

Right click on the dvd drive and select uninstall, the right click anywhere in the window and select scan for hardware changes (or to that direction)

The computer will re-install the drive automatically, if the problem remains follow these instructions

IT says Vista, but look at the filenames, it says vista and XP on drivers that work with both.

all you need then is windows xp installation cd.

ive heard of this problem happening often with ms vista and nvidia video cards try going to nvidia website and make sure you have the latest drivers

Hi There, since Acer do no release a wlan driver for Windows XP, you need to use the driver for Window Vista. If you do not have the driver for Windows Vista, you download it from here . After finish downloading, then un-zip the file. Now let's start to install the wlan drivers. Go to your "Start Menu", then "Settings", "Control Panel" then "System", system properties windows will be pop up. Then select "Hardware" tab, and then click on "Device Manager" button. You will then see "Device Manager" windows. Look for your "Network Adapter" and you will see your wlan network adapter with red cross mark.Right click your red crossed wlan adapter, then select "Update Driver"
You will prompted with "Hardware Update Wizard" then select on "No, not this time" radio button and click on "Next" button. On next windows, select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" radio button and then select "Next" buttons.
Then another window will pop up, then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install", then click on "Next" button. Then you will come to this windows "Select Network Adapter", you will see you existing network adapter that do not working, then select "Have Disk", and browse to the location where you have unzip the driver. Then Select the appropriate driver for your laptop. Acer Aspire laptop 4720z come in 3 wlan varian, Intel chipset, broadcom, and Atheros and I don't know which one is on your laptop. Just try one by one if you are not sure, it's only 3 to choose from.

My PC is running too slow so i want to format my pc (which is acer Aspire T310) so that it comes back to normal. I want to know everything about it because i havent tried it before. Some questions are:
1.How to format?
2.How to reinstall the windows?
3. How to get MS powerpoint,word etc?

First you want a Windows Xp genuine CD and most of the drivers are built-in in Windows xp, also try to install windows xp with service pack 2 and after installation go the device manager and see how many device required drivers as you can see them with exclamation marks or question marks. go to google and download the device driver run it inside your pc also i recommend before you do got to device manager and indentify all your dirvers like VGA Sound and other devices

Well if your sound card went out then your kind of out of luck, but if you need to get the sound card to work again, like to install it then you need to go to the acer website and download the driver for it.

Your problem could be windows vista isnot installed properly
i assume in the beginning, your laptop come with windows xp.
if you want to go back to windows xp, you can still use alt+f10, as long as you don't delete the recover partition.
Just boot and press Alt+F10, it'll give you recover screen.
