Fuji Finepix s1000fd i/o error when loading photos to PC

I get an i/o error when trying to usb transfer photos from camera to my PC. I've reloaded updated drivers from the Fuji site - nothing working. I've tried pulling the Sandisk card and using my printer to read it - comes back with a memory error. The card is brand new as is the camera....has anybody else had this problem? I can't believe it's that difficult to get the photos from the camera. I just purchased Fuji s2000hd and after intalling finpix software I can't down load pics form camera to PC I get a I/O error. Help thisis furstratining I have uninstalled and reinstlled software no luck:(

I had same problem,Vista/Fuji-finepix.

Go to control panel click on Autoplay, camera is under devices probably says " take no action" with red sign.click on the bar and a drop down appears, click on import to windows or ask me first, click save and it should work fine. i uninstalled the fuji software,i assume it has issues with microsoft settings.

The dropdown menu only other option is "Open Device Stage" not "import to Windows" or "Ask me first" ... now what?

Zoom error Fuji S1000fd

I have seen instances where people managed to get this problem fixed themselves. the zoom mechanism, it seems, is not all that complex. If you think you've got nothing to lose (there is a risk factor) just take it apart and have a look. Good luck!

I can't get my new MacBook to recognize and import photos.

Mac's don't need a driver to recognize the camera however they usually need a specific program for different brands of photos. You can also try opening up iPhoto as that will usually recognize the camera. If iPhoto doesn't work and you don't want to install a new program you can also get a card reader that'll connect via USB and will avoid needing any program to transfer photos.

I have a Fuji Finepix S8000fd, and i inserted the memory card just now after uploading photos to the computer, and it said 'read error' and wont show any pictures stored on the card on the camera, please...

You will lose whatever is still on the card but you could try to 'Format' the card, either by right clicking on it in the 'My Computer' page on your PC, or by using the menus on you camera.

Cant upload pix from my fuji s1000fd to pc finepix program.

instead of using the usb plug that the camera has go to best buy, show them your card, and ask for a card reader
what this will do is plug into a usb port, and it will read the data off of the card, completely bypassing the program

After surfing for solutions, I tried uninstalling all the Fuji software and using Windows to pull the pictures off the camera...It worked! Card and USB were working just fine even though they came back with errors using the Fuji software.
