Kirby works with the brush roller head; but not the hose attachment (won't start with hose attachment)

The part of the hose that attaches to the vacuum should push on the switch on the front of the vacuum so it won't come on without the nozzle or hose attached. Inspect the hose to see if that part may be broken or not making good contact to activate the switch,

No suction when using hose attachments - motor runs and under cupboard vent works - just not able to use just the hose with attachments

does the vacuum turn on when hose plugged into wall outlet assuming your using central vac. if it does not turn on then the metal band in the hose end is possibly cracked.

Floor attachment does not suction, no clog in the hose, hand held works when dettached from floor attachment

Have you checked the floor head? Use a pipe cleaner or twisted metal to carefully and gently see what's in there. It sounds like dirt or something has definately sealed up the main suction channel.

Suction only through attachment, but not without attachments

have you removed the bottom plate...as if you were going to change the belt....look for where the intake hose is under or near the roller brush...most likely that is where your clog is.

No power getting through

Hi
The motor spindle should NOT rotate when there is nothing attached to the front. Its very dangerous. There are two square switches on the front of the machine which engage depending on wether its the main head or hose thats attached. Looks like on of them is sticking

Attachments are not working

Is there any suction when the hose is connected? You may try connecting the hose to the blower part (which is whre the exhaust filter is) and turn the machine on. If not take it to your dealer.

Dispensing problem w/attachment and maybe floor partion

The F5914 has a hose that must be attached to the pump when using the upholstry attachment. Make sure that the solution hose is pushed onto the pump valve all the way. Try pushing the hose down and then pushing the locking collar down to secure it. This will insure that the hose is fully engaged.

If one attachment works ok, but another doesn't, then there must be a problem with the attachment and will have to be replaced.
