Is it possible, my dear TV expert, That I could have a simple capacitor problem like some of the Poloroid's Ive read about. Again, it doesnt want to switch on. Started by taking a while, then longer......and....you get the pic. ( The capacitor prob I speak of manifest itself as caps expand on top ) Any help greatly appreciated......
PS I do the fixya on the Automotive stuff, so if you need help with youre ride...Let me know.

There are two capacitors in the internal power supply regulator board that have been the main culprit of this particular issue. You can identify the bads ones by the slight buldge at the top of the capacitors.
Power supply is the problem. I had the same issue. Cost $250 at the local repair shop but it's worth it. The shop said it has replaced a dozen power supplies in that model in the past cople of months.
Sure you can send this out to be fixed for $150-$250 at a local repair shop, or you can do ebay for $99, but that may not solve the problem. The main board could have a problem now as well with running to hot at a different voltage for to long. Will sound be a problem, or video?!?
So this could fix the tv but for how long. The wear and tear on the other components makes me hesitate repairing this unit. Do I spend the money here, or do I reinvest it in a new TV.
