You can download your manual at Hoover.com under Service and Support - Download Manuals. It's acutally very easy to connect: With cleaner unplugged, open the hose connection port on the top of the suction nozzle (much easier to just follow the pictures than to figure out from my description) and plug in the short hose end. Plug the solution tube into its connection port on the side of the lower unit (in front of the wheel). You'll also want to check out the instructions for cleanup.
Go to www.Hoover.com. Click on Carpet Cleaners. Click on Steam Vac All Terrain. Click on Learn more. Then click on Download the manual in pdf. The manual explains all.
http://www.geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=618767&thid=407245 Hoover Steam Vac Clean Surge Posted by just a brat on Feb 22, 2008 I can not seem to get the attachment for the upholstery cleaner to operate what am i doing wrong???? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The attachment works on the suction from the Hoover Steam Vac and it’s either a straight suction tool or a revolving brush, check the front of the machine to see if the is a switch to turn on and odd, also before you attach the upholstery tool check the end of the hose for suction, it may be that your upholstery tool may be clogged or the brushes are not spinning and a part may be broken. Feel free to check with you local vac dealer or a new or a good used part if you find out what is wrong. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.hoover.comTelephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST Don – The Vac Man Go Ahead.Use Us.
Take out the duct in front of the tank (#3), the hose end will have a duct on it that you insert in its place. This provides the suction for the hose. Don't forget to put that duct you took out back in place, or you won't have suction when you use the steam cleaner.
