Question about DeLonghi Magnifica 3300 Espresso Machine
I have a delonghi magnifica 3300, never had one problem, descale regularly, clean the inside and infuser every other week. This morning it went thru its start up and everything was normal until I made a cup of coffee. Everything sounded normal grinding coffee, but no cofee cam out, the grounds puck was wet and half formed and there was water in the grounds container. I cleaned everything, soaked the infuser, cleaned the screen cleaned the inside made sure there were no obstructions, reset the machine, only to have the same results. The water light comes on after trying to brew a cup of coffee, i have made sure that the magnet is working in the water container, and it is not that at all. Delonghi Customer Service were no help, asking me to clean the infuser, and take it to a service department (200 miles from me) I have thought it could be the solenoid not getting water where it should? It steams, rinses, and gets water everywhere else except when I brew???? Any thoughts
Hi JB, not sure if you've junked your 3300 machine by now or had the problem fixed already. Nevertheless, allow me to share with owners of DeLonghi Magnifica Espresso machines who encounter similar problem to yours. Incidentally, mine is a Delonghi Magnifica 3200 which is very much the same as the 3300. Firstly, try to ascertain if the pump is working normally. When the machine is ready to brew coffee, turn ON the steam/hot water knob and see if it pumps normally and for more than 30secs at least. My machine could pump for short durations between 5secs to 20secs max before the water light came on. I checked the flow meter connection but is all seemed well. I noticed signs of water leak (dried up chalky water stains) where the steam wand exits the control panel. Upon opening up the control panel, I noticed a larger patch of dried up water stains on the wand valve assembly. Bought a set of steam wand assembly replacement and to replace the leaking one. It's been some six month now and I'm enjoying my daily cuppa again. Btw, my Delonghi Magnifica 3200 has been serving me well for 10 years! Apart from the steam wand replacement and a faulty micro-switch, I only had to carry out the usual descaling and replacing worn out O-rings.

on my machine, the two screws that attach the infuser receptacle to the insides of the machine came loose. You can see those two stainless hex socket screws when you remove the infuser by grabbing its two red tabs and pulling it out. Just use a hex shaft
screwdriver (size 3mm or thereabout) to tighten them.

Remove base plate and turn pulley clockwise (probably for several minutes) until infuser arm returns to vertical position and the infuser itself drops to the low position. You should here a click when it reaches this point. The infuser can then be removed as normal.

Hi. Husband asks: When you first turn the machine on at the power point, does it make a motor sound and then stop, or is the awful noise apparent at that time.
If the awful noise starts as soon as you turn it on, then most likely there is a motor problem which will need to be seen by a Service Center.

I had this problem too. The instruction manual says to turn the steam knob only half way counter-clockwise after pressing the button for 5 seconds, but you need to turn it ALL the way to have the procedure start (at least, that was the solution with my machine). Good luck!
