How to disassemble a baby ben westclox wind up alarm clock

I've unscrewed all the screws that I can reach, but I cant get the back white plastic part apart from the rest because I don't know how to get the metal part that you wind the clock up with off.

Sorry to say that clock repair is not easy and is a lost art. You may want to see if you can locate one locally that can fix it. The only other chance you have is to open the clock and look for the winding spring and the pawl that holds it and release the tension by holding the pawl back as you put torque on the winding stem, then release the stem slowly and then release the pawl.

Big ben moonbeam alarm not sounding

The later alarm trip assemblies - the one in which the cam on the trip staff is a steel disc with a cutout, and the trip wheel is steel with a stamped out projection - can be troublesome. I had so much trouble with these parts on a 1970 Big Ben leg model reproduction that I replaced them with the old style trip assembly having the brass finger on the trip staff and a brass trip wheel. This solved the problem of the trip staff being carried around with the trip wheel.

Greetings.

According to the product manual, press the 'ALARM ON/OFF' button on the back of the clock until the bell symbol and 'Zz' disappear from the display screen. These symbols are between the hour and minute digiits, above the colon ( : ).

Design of back of clock

I know how you feel... it is hell to get old. Have you tried looking at second hand stores for the old original Big Ben? I changed over to electronic digital alarms with battery backup, but I'm with you... it is not the same. It is a good thing that time becomes less critical to us as we age... except having more of it. Perhaps you can go to Westclox website and click on CONTACT, and send them a message yourself. Better in your own words than mine. http://www.alarmclocksonline.com/BigBens.htm May God richly bless you.
