Ooops... hooked up my speakers to the computer :(

So I tried to hook my speakers up to the computer not realizing that I wasn't supposed to. Everything works fine, but just a small buzz instead of music comes out of the speakers. Hooked up other speakers to the unit to test speakers, and same problem. Could I replace the cable that hooks the woofer to the dock? It's getting power, but maybe not enough... Please help, don't want to throw it away after using it for a month!

How do I hook up this darn Phoenix gold octane r 8.0.1 amp it's supposed to be a monoblock amp but has 2 hook ups 2 positives and 2 negatives I'm thinking that would be to hook up 2 4 ohm speakers to equal...

Most mono amps now a days give you multiple terminals. The older amps were a pain trying to stuff all the wires in one set of terminals. If the amp is rated at 2 ohms mono then make sure what ever configuration of speakers your running does not go below 2 ohms using both terminals. For example do not hook a 2 ohm load to each terminal. 2 ohms period between the 2 sets of terminals.

No sound when hooking up DVi to HDMI...

This is normal, when you go from HDMI to DVI, the sound does not get transmitted. You need a separate cable to go from audio output on the computer to Audio input to the TV. There are speaker (headphone on laptop) jack to RCA audio cables, you could also go with digital audio or even optical out if your computer and TV both have the input and outputs.

Hook up Avertec 3200 to Sharp Aqueous TV

After I found the manual somewhere on the internet, I realized that it is already available here. (Lucky you!)

I could not find a specific manual for your Aquos TV (which model?). Look into your manual, and see if there is an option to connect via VGA of HDMI for video
If you want to use your TV speakers, it depends what audio input options you have on your TV. You might need a cable like this:

The red/white connectors into your TV, the 2.5mm plug into your computer.

Speaker trouble

There has to be separate cord for the speakers. Look for an Audio port on the back of the monitor. It looks like a small hole and should be marked "Audio". Connect this to the Audio out on the PC using a cable with two Audio jacks at both ends.

I was given a 2003 Acer AL1916 monitor and came home and hooked it up to my old Compaq presario computer. The screen is fine but the audio is barely audible. I had speakers hooked to the side of my old...

The speakers are not supposed to plug into the monitor, they will plug into the speaker jack on the back of your computer (usually a green plug or it will have a picture of a speaker next to it)
Hope this helps
Good Luck!

I'm trying to connect my computer to my Sansui A3100 receiver so that I can listen to my computer music via my speakers which are also hooked up to my receiver. Everything is hooked up correctly. Can you...

I would connect the computer directly to the speakers not the receiver to confirm the impedance is compatible. Connecting via the receiver complicates the issue.

Which output channel are you selecting on the receiver.

Roland DS-50A as computer speakers. Having problems.

Hello there!

First Things first:
1) Simple, good sound of your speakers, need a good cable, (gold ) or ( copper)
for now, you should go to Radio Shack and buy a specific cable for this Monitor and for your X-Fi sound card. remember, the quality on cables!!!
for this, you need to go with your monitor manual. They may know the specific cable you need.

All my speakers don't work.

Did you press the "TEST" button on the remote? It will send some white noise to each speaker that is hooked up, one at a time.
