I have a problem with keyboard volume control

Hello,
I have a problem with keyboard volume control on my Sony VGN FJ 270/B notebook. I have scanned all viruses Trojan Horses in my system, and I have found many viruses on it. After that, I removed it from my system. When I restarted my computer, the sound will outcome is ok. Unfortunately, I want to use keyboard volume control to adjust my sound. It does not working. I use key Fn+F3,F4 to adjust volume on keyboard. Also other keys with Fn+F5,F6,F7, it does not working as well. I really do not know what was happend after I scanned viruses. Is anyone help me on above situation?

You might have uninstalled a software on your system that support the function keys. Check the support website of your system. You might find the software for your keyboard shortcuts.

These instructions are for Windows XP:

  • The volume button, brightness key, and disc eject button on some computers will not work if the HotKey Utility application is not running.
  • The Magnify button and the Fn keys will not function properly before the operating system has finished starting.
  • The setting may not be saved if the ESC key is used to close the Fn display. Press the ENTER key or allow the Fn display to close automatically to save the setting.
  1. Click the Start button, then click Run .
  2. In the Run window, next to Open , type MSCONFIG .
  3. Press the ENTER key.
  4. In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab.
  5. On the Startup tab, under Startup Item , ensure that there is a check in the HKserv checkbox. NOTE: If HKserv is missing, reinstall the HotKey Utility application and the Sony Utilities Library.
  6. Click the OK button.
  7. In the System Configuration box, click the restart button.

What is trojan horse virus

A Trojan Horse is full of as much trickery as the mythological Trojan Horse it was named after. The Trojan Horse, at first glance will appear to be useful software but will actually do damage once installed or run on your computer. Those on the receiving end of a Trojan Horse are usually tricked into opening them because they appear to be receiving legitimate software or files from a legitimate source. When a Trojan is activated on your computer, the results can vary. Some Trojans are designed to be more annoying than malicious (like changing your desktop, adding silly active desktop icons) or they can cause serious damage by deleting files and destroying information on your system. Trojans are also known to create a backdoor on your computer that gives malicious users access to your system, possibly allowing confidential or personal information to be compromised. Unlike viruses and worms, Trojans do not reproduce by infecting other files nor do they self-replicate.

I have sony vaio vgn a215z and volume buttons don't work

if the function key of your keyboard not working, the primary reason is the chipset driver of your mainboard not installed. you need to load your cd/dvd driver to your cd/dvd rom then you can find the list of drivers and select the chipset driver click it and follow screen instruction after installation restart and done. be sure to locate the chipset driver base of your OS.

My laptop doesnt detect USB Pen drives (sony vaio VGN-FJ 270)

Go to start->control panel->system->hardware->device manager. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right click on every USB root hub and select uninstall option. They will be reinstalled on next restart.
After that plug USB pen drive to usb port - go to start->control panel->system->hardware->device manager. Click Universal Serial Bus controllers then click on Action tab (the one at the top of Device manager window and select scan for hardware changes.
If that will not solve the issue try different USB port.
Make sure you have latest service pack installed so Windows would install proper drivers for the device.
Let me know if this is not solved

I scan my files using spyware doctor but still fu virus is still there.

Greetings,
We need to understand first that there are differences between all malicious softwares. Spywares, viruses, malwares, trojan horses are to name a few. the soyware doctor can fix spyware issues but cannot control the action of a virus. try installing a good anti virus software viz. mcafee and scan the hard disk. Mostly the issue gets fix elase if the registry changes have happened then you wil be required to format the hard disk. Hope I helped you.
