It normally is under pressure. There is a "check ball" in the tube to prevent water from coming out of the tube in service. The feed tube has to be flooded with water in service position so when system goes in to draw cycle vacuum is created in the tube to draw bleach. You may have a plugged eductor assembly or feed tube may be restricted.

How do I get the bleach dispenser to drain?

Hello Denise C - There are several things that could cause the bleach to not dispense into the washer. Are you sure the liquid in the dispenser after the wash is bleach? If it is pure bleach, the solenoid that lets the water into the dispenser is not working. This solenoid is located on the back of the dispenser. It only gets voltage during the dispense time and fills the bleach dispenser with water. The bleach dispenser fills while the washer is filling for the rinse cycle.

When the washer begins to fill for the rinse cycle, the bleach solenoid is energized and water flows into the bleach dispenser cup. When the cup is full the water siphons out and bleach and water flow into the tub.

If the liquid in the bleach dispenser is pure bleach you may need a technician to diagnose and repair the problem. The voltage will have to be tested to the bleach solenoid and a volt meter is required.

If the liquid in the bleach dispenser is water you probably need to clean the dispenser cup. Scum will build up in the siphon tube and stop the liquid from going into the washer tub. The incoming water will dilute the bleach and overflow the dispenser cup and run into the tub.

Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Clean the bottom of the insert and the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Reinstall the insert and put the drawer back inside the washer.

To test the siphon action slowly pour water into the bleach compartment. When the water level goes above the maximum line stop pouring. The water should all drain out. You may also test the fabric softener compartment the same way.

I do hope this information proves to be helpful.

I have an Electrolux washer model EWFLS70JSS. The bleach dispenses during the rinse cycle rather the wash cycle. I thank you in adavance for your help.

This is a siphoning problem. Please clean out the dispenser cup(s) as much as you can and try again. You may need to clean the unit and run vinegar through instead of bleach to unclog any small components.

When replacing the filters it says to put bleach in the 5 micron housing and carbon filter . do you put both filters in and add bleach to both

I prefer to clean the housings out with about a tablespoon of bleach before installing filters. TFC membranes used in almost all RO systems are susceptible to chlorine degradation. So unless you pull all the filters and sanitize the system it is NOT a good idea to add bleach to housing when installing filters. It helps to use latex gloves when changing filters to prevent bacterial contamination from your hands. This is the main reason RO systems need to be sanitized with filter changes.

How to replace filter on an undersink culligan reverse osmosis filter

Turn off the incoming water supply, turn off the valve on storage tank, open the RO faucet and let pressure off. Have a pan ready, remove the sediment pre-filter housing and post-carbon housing.
Use latex gloves when changing filters, add 1 tsp bleach to each housing and clean them thoroughly before installing filters. Make sure all bleach is rinsed out before installing filters. Turn the water back on to system, turn the tank back on and run 2 tanks of water out before using water again.

I'm looking for info on Culligan Super "S" water conditioner. Serial # V06244773 Part# 01014773 Can I get a manual? The water smells like rotten eggs. I need to know does it uptake bleach every 30 days or...

The Culligan Super S filtration system needs to have 1 gallon of 5% household bleach at least weekly. If your water is high in H2S it needs a gallon of bleach with every regeneration. Set the system to regenerate every day for 1 week and bleach at least 3x that week. Super S filters are recommended to be re-bedded every 750,000ppm. Regen cycle example: 2ppm iron, .5ppm H2S this system is set to regenerate every other and use 1 gallon of bleach per week. This system is now 13 years old and has exceeded the 750,000ppm suggested re-bed but is still performing with great water.
You also need to check the water heater to see if smell is coming from there. The anode rod in WH degrades and gives off a sulfur type smell. Here is a link for the Super S manual.

Egg smell has returned to culligan iron-cleer unit. unit is draining properly.

Iron cleer and sulfur cleer systems have a bed life of 750000 ppm. This is generally about ten years. You can try running the system every day for 1 week to see if it improves. The air pump may not be working properly so iron and h2s may not be being oxidized properly. H2S smell would be the first symptom of this. I would suggest a service call.

LG Tromm Not Dispensing Bleach

My wife has been complaining that the bleach and fabric softener dispenser still had water in it after washing. After removing the top to the washer I found that there are 4 components to the dispenser. 1. the solenoid (part of a 3 solenoid bundle) for the cold water, 2 the controller to the solenoid 3. The hose from the solenoid to the dispenser, and 4. The dispenser. After checking that there were no kinks in the hoses. I checked the solenoid found it had power at the right time but the flow was low. I shut off all the water and disconnected the lines going into the back of the washer I found that the cold water filters were clogged. After cleaning them (there were 2 for each hot and cold) The washer worked correctly.

Bleach not always being emptied, bleach marks on clothes, bleach sometimes runs right out when you fill it.

The dispenser works on a siphon principal. If you over fill the cup it will start the siphon and empty before it should. If that's happening you're using way too much. You only need about a tablespoon of soap, softner and bleach for a full load.
