Question about Acer Aspire 6920 Notebook PC

Acer Aspire - Crystal Eye Webcam won't record video

I have an Acer Aspire 6920 with the built-in Crystal Eye Webcam.

When I first got the laptop, it worked fine. But now, the webcam won't "Record" Video. It will take still pictures and has the delete trash can Icon, but the Record Button is gone. It offers me no option to capture video.

Do I need to update the drivers, or is there a place to get the software for Crystal Eye to reinstall? Or does someone know of good software that I use with this?

The whole reason I bought this laptop was to do instructional videos to upload to the web or burn to disc.

I have installed the updated/current driver, but that did not fix the problem.

I guess my question is, does anyone know of a 3rd party sofware that will allow me to use the Crystal Eye webcam to capture video and save it to my hard drive for later editing?

I am looking for ease of use, good quality recording/output, at a reasonable price (free is good too!)

Update the drivers. The Crystal Eye is not the best camera out there. I have had to update mine 7 times and only owned it for 3 months

you need to download a video capturing device
if your system did not come with one
the built in webcam is exactly that for messaging programs and taking snaps but they can be used for video and this is usually something you need to get on your own

I have a problem with my webcam of acer 6920g.when i try to open it it comes out camera not found.why?i have already tryed to reinstall the drivers of the cryrtal eye but it's not working.i have saw that...

hi... pls look for the version of your crystal eye webcam that fits to your camera.... then uninstall the one you already installed and reinstall it... make sure that you will use the right CD driver of your camera... thank you very much...

I would first check the path/directory that video is recorded to, uncheck the playback after recording box and if this does not work you need to update the drivers.

Crystal eye webcam for acer aspire 6920G says camera not found

hey, I had the same problem, I've got an Acer Aspire 6920 and I swapped out Vista that was on it for Windows XP

I went to the link you posted but it just goes to acer.com
so I figured I'd try something

if you go to acer aspire 6920 drivers, you can only pick Vista and Windows 7, and not Windows XP

instead, pick 6530 drivers (older acer) and pick the Bison driver:

install the proper driver for your laptop from acer's online support & download centre, most likely the correct driver is the one called Acer Crystal Eye or something like that

u want to record video u can use cyberr link power producer provided by acer notebooks or any video capturing software and in the cap settings select crystal eye webcam as a source and ther eu go start rec ur video
