Windshield mount came loose and dropped unit, breaking antenna off. Garmin says they don't support it anymore. Their answer - buy another unit. Does anyone know of a repair shop in U.S?

Two possibilities - Antenna (in power cable) or electronics related to antenna. First, do a hard reset. Place the pen top into the RESET hole for 3 seconds...
Next, when the unit is powered, page over to the screen showing satellite signal strength....
If NONE appear within 1 minute (and you are outside and NOT under trees), you have an antenna or antenna interface issue.
Garmin WILL repair the unit for 3 to 4 times its value... A 265WT GPS is cheaper, faster and more accurate. The IQUE is no longer worth repairing....

I only needed a simple answer to the question of whether the iQue M5 would take a Thailand Map. Actually, I waited for twenty minutes on the special Garmin line for this discontinued product and gave up, deciding that it probably wouldn't work.
mine does the same thing....i even have the external add on antenna, mine turns on fine but as soon as you flip the antenna up on the back, the screen starts flashing and the system keeps rebooting over and over again...
Garmin will replace the screen for a fee. Mine broke when the suction cup mount came loose and it hit the gear shift. To be clear, it was the touch sensitive "grid" that broke on mine, and not the actual display part. The Garmin support person put my repair in as a "no charge", and they did it for me for free.
If this is an IQue 3600 then you will need to install the Palm Desktop from your original IQue disk in order to sync with your new laptop. The Microsoft active-sync is for a PDA using Windows (Garmin M3 and M5 are windows based PDA w/GPS).
