You need to find out what Co. made the touchscreen for that model to see if they have updated touchscreen drivers for windows 8.
Sounds like your machine was intended for XP,
Good luck!

How can you get the touch screen or pen work on the dell latitude xt2? I can't figure out how to get the buttons to work or the screen to rotate.

What OS are you using ? Windows Vista or Windows 7 ?
In order to get the buttons and touchscreen working, you need to install the proper drivers.
Go to http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=LAT_XT2&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=
Select your operating system
and download the following drivers and install them in the following order :
  1. System Utilities : - > Dell Utility : System Software
  2. ControlPoint -> Dell - Application : ControlPoint System Manager
  3. Input device drivers - > Ntrig Application
Restart your computer. Run Windows Update Restart your computer Everything should work.

Touchscreen not working

You just need to download and install the driver and it should be fine.

Go to www.hp.com and click on support and drivers then check the download drivers button and finally enter in the model in your case TC4200 and this will open a new page. Next select your operating system and you are now at the downloads page.

Download the drivers, save to desktop (its easy to find again then) and then run it and folow the inscreen instructions and reboot if asked to.

You haven't mentioned your operating system so I can't give you any more exact instructions. If you download and install all of the available drivers for your version of windows you can't go wrong. Windows will try to use built in drivers such as the video. These work but the oem driver usually gives you more options and sometimes better performance. The touch driver will either be part of the video or the input drivers dpending on what version of windows.

try looking on the restore discs for drivers, use the explore option after you right click the cd with disc loaded if not there then go to mfg's website and try looking under support /downloads. you didn't mention model or make, the drivers are on the website in any case. you will get most current drivers from there. hope this helps. good luck

The Pen

I'm not familiar with your laptop but judging from all the pdas I've had with touch screens the pen itself is only a pen, you could basicly use a wooden stick to poke at the screen and it shouldn't make a difference to the computer.

this laptop has a touchscreen If I'm not mistaken and you should be able to use it even with your fingers.

You might have a faulty touchscreen or then you need to install a driver for the screen?

Before you open up your computer, try downloading the touchscreen drivers from Fujitsu's website and re-installing them. Sometimes they just get flaky.
