The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

You may download the manual and more from here.

Are you possibly shooting pictures in RAW format? Photo kiosks such as those at Walgreens won't recognize Canon RAW photos, only JPEGs. Check the camera's image quality settings, as described beginning on page 60 of the manual.

My camera will not upload pics, it says that there is no pics/videos to upload at this time! Even though I have 84 pics there!

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

Hello there, My samsung ES60 digital camera will not connect to my laptop, could you try and explain why this may be

SOME CAMERAS NEED TO HAVE THE RIGHT USB ADAPTER TO INSTALL YOUR PICTURES. YOU CAN BUY THE UNIVERSAL ADAPTERS PRETTY CHEAP AT ANY CVS, WALGREENS, WALMART ETC,.

I WOULD SUGGEST SAVING ALL YOUR PICTURES TO YOUR MEMORY CARD THEN TAKING YOUR MEMORY CARD OUT OF YOUR CAMERA AND SLIP IT INTO YOUR CARD READER SLOT ON YOUR COMPUTER...THE COMPUTER WILL ASK YOU WHERE YOU WHERE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SAVE YOUR PIC'S, THEN PICK WHAT FILE YOU WICH.

ANOTHER OPTION WOULD BE SAVE YOU PIC'S ON YOUR MEMORY CARD AND TAKE IT TO CVS AND SAVE ON A DISK, THEN INSTALL YOUR DISK INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND SAVE YOUR PIC'S THAT WAY. CVS HAS SPECIALS WEEKLY ON PICTURE'S IDEA'S AND IT IS A COST VERY LOW COST SAVING WAY OF SAVING YOU VALUABLE PIC'S , PLUS YOU CAN ADD MUSIC IF YOU WISH TO YOUR PIC'S SAVED ON A DISK. THE DISK IS PROVIDED BY CVS.

YOU JUST NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR PIC'S ON YOUR MEMORY CARD FIRST!

HOPE THIS HELPS,

MARTIE

Pics can't be read or viewed on computer or picture kiosk but I can see them just fine on my camera when I review the pics. I'm using an XD card. I refuse to lose these pics

Are the pics are saved in the SD card but not the camera's built-in memory? If they are on the built-in memory you can't see them from PC, you have to move them from the built-in memory to the SD card by your camera first.

There no pic in the display,it seems like its taking a pic but wont

Connect the camera to a PC and download a few pictures. Or remove the SDcard and insert it in a USB card reader. If pics are black also it's a problem with the CCD chip and connected electronics.

If there's a clean picture it's a display problem. Display replacement is quite a micro mechanical feat - but can be done. Displays can be taken from dead camera's saving a few.

My flip camera says its empty but when I try to record it says its full??

Your memory card may think it's full if you've been deleting pics from it when it's in your PC and not in the camera.

If you've offloaded all the pics you want to from your memory card, put it back in your camera and "reformat" the card - there should be instructions how to do this in your camera manual. (If you've misplaced your manual you can likely find an online version on the website of your camera manufacturer). Hopefully this will fix your problem.

From now on, (even if you have to buy a new memory card), don't do any editing or deleting of pics directly on the memory media while it is in your PC (or Mac). Offload your pics to a file of their own on the PC (you can edit pics from that file). Then put the memory card back into the camera, verify that you did indeed successfully offload the pics to the PC (with the media card out of the PC), then delete the pics from the card while it's in the camera.

Reformat the memory card periodically (in the camera) after you've offloaded your pics (reformatting will erase all pics so you've gotta be sure you captured them elsewhere) to maintain the 'health' & full functionality of your memory card.

thanks.
