Replaced fuel pump failure

Relaced fuel pump,Ran fine for about 4 hours.Came back from town. Took a shower.Got back in it wouldn't start.Really not sure if pump's running .Turn on key and all I hear is seatbelt, open door bell dinging. It seems like I might be hearing it, but not every time. Fuel pump fuse ok.Don't know how to check f/pump relay or even get it out ,scare that I may damage it trying to force it out by pulling on it, It seems to be in there really tight.

no, Never thought to do that,I just hate to replace.parts just to prolong the suffering to have to pull this tank again. I bought the replacement pump from Autozone that might tell you alot. They are the close to my house to run back and forth to.

If you can't hear the pump over the door chime, when checking, roll down the window instead of opening the door, or have someone else listen outside the vehicle! To get the relay out, spray some wd 40 or other solvent around the base... it will seep into plug and make it easier to remove. (if it's bad, it will have to come out sooner or later!!)
Did you replace the filter when you did the pump???

Most vehicles have an inline filter on the frame rail...You don't have to take tank down to get to it. But you will need a tool to get fittings apart.

Sounds like a faulty fuel pressure regulator, or possibly the MAF sensor.

Car wont start. took a fuel injector out and put the same one right back in and it ran for 2 days fine now wont start again, what is the problem?

A possible fuel pump pressure issue. You will need to have a garage check the fuel line pressure. The engine requires more fuel on cold start and a failing pump may not be able to cope with supply. This may also be apparent at high revs, but not as apparent as cold start.

Car ran fine shut it off came back it didn't want to start. started went about half a mile sputered an died wouldn't start back up 1991 subaru loyal wagon

Hi sounds like the typical fuel pump or filter problem with these cars, best way to tell is take top fuel hose off on fuel filter under hood, turn key on ignition (not start) and fuel should pump out, if not its your pump, just beware of doing when engine is hot

My sidekick will just die or barely run it died

last year, OBD1 car (dumbb ECU)
no scan tools for it
if you run on the road with that hack , and wreck
expect a nice fire. fuel fire.
if you used a voltmeter and say 12vdc there, all hotwiring stuff
need not be done. (
it stalled (misfire)
and then would not what? start but cranks ok?
4wd?
3sp ,4sp auto or 5speed stick
16v engine or 8v, both are G16s but EFI radially different.
16v is MPI with 4 injectors, 8v is 1 injector TBI
try a new
cap,.rotor spark wires and spark plugs yet?
cant burn fuel with bad spark
i guess the cam bent did not slip as it run ok later, but is 60,000 mile belt. and will slip ignored.

next time it stalls
check headlamps they work, and all electric
then see if CEL glows key on, i must or ECU lost power
it has 3 fuse that can rust, IG coil, FI, and DOME.
the CEL must glow, is first checks.

I have a 98 Pontiac Montana transport 3.4L V6 SFI It has been running good since I bought it 4 years ago. Then one day the fuel gauge stopped working, so since then I would use the mileage to calculate...

Hello: When you turn the key on the fuel pump should run for 2 seconds if it isn't the check the f/p fuse, relay and it could be the pump itself. You might take a hammer and beat on the bottom of the fuel tank (in the center) while someone is holding the key in start (turning engine over) if it starts you have a fuel pump problem. (pump in tank)
