Brake Pedal pulses back at my foot when I step on brake; kind of like ABS beginning to kick in.

    Hmmm....ok. The mechanic I took it to a few weeks ago said it was wheel speed sensors. He "cleaned" them and the problem stopped...now it's back.

    Nothing else. He took out both sensors (front), cleaned them and hub. Scan test. Also has C0201, function test ABS ok. Make sense?

    I took in my truck this morning. They said my truck has "Power Boost", and "it's suppoesed to do that".



    Really? It never did it before? Any ideas? The ABS doesn't "kick in"...it's just like someone is pushing against the brake pedal when I drive normally. When I push the brake softly I noticed that it wouldn't do it.



    Of course, it's not doing it today. Temp is about 15 deg. warmer. Any more ideas?

    doesn't do it all the time , step on brakes pedal wants to come back up

    the back brake bulbs were changed how de the brake bulb inside the car by the brake pedal

How old are the brakes? It sounds like you may have a warped rotor.

Sound like you have warped rotors. Replace the rotors and brake pads and you'll be fine.

This sounds like a Master Cylinder Problem. It will be ok for a while But, will eventually get worse if it is not Replaced. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

    The Speed Sensor has nothing too do with the Braking System............Are you sure that he did not Do something else while he was in there????

    Yep! If he just Cleaned the Sensors and Reinstalled them and then Cleared the Codes, There is your Problem. Clearing the Codes will Reset Everything and will take a little while to register Back with and Bad Codes that are still Coming through the System. It seems like at this Point that one or Both of these Sensors are Bad.

    Sounds Wierd too Me! I have Driven GM Vehicles all of my Life and I have NEVER Heard this Before. Maybe it was just a Temperature Problem since it is not doing it Today. I hope so! You could always get a Third Opinion on this from an Independent Mechanic.

the problem most likely is warped discs
this makes the pistons move in and out and pulses under the foot
take the discs to an accredited brake shop and have them checked and machined
ABS systems do not work until a skid situation is reached, then the abs pump cuts in and maintains brake line pressure according to brake pedal pressure
oil on brake lining and disc pads will also give problems so have the shop do a proper inspection

I ave a low growling noice and brake pedal pulses
As a general rule, if the wheel shakes when you apply the brakes, the front disk rotors are warped. If the brake pedal pulses when you apply brakes, the rear brake rotors are warped. So you most likely have warped rear brake rotors. The noise may be that the wear indicators on the brake pads are touching the disks, indicating that you need new brake pads. Given both of these, I suggest a trip to the local brake repair centre is needed.

2005 Chevy impala brake pedal pulsation with brand new rotors installed
Is your ABS working properly? Under heavy braking the ABS should engage and 'pulse' the brakes on/off. It is normal to feel the brake petal flutter or pulse under your foot.

Under light braking there should be no pulsing as the ABS does not engage and you have changed the rotors and pads.

My niece has a 1998 Mazda Protege with brake issues. When you step on the brake pedal if feels as the anti-lock brakes are kicking in. The brakes pedal pulses. Any ideas?
What you have sounds like warped rotors. They will cause a pulse or vibration in the brake pedal. This can be caused by:

1. Rotors worn too thin.
2. Riding the brakes and/or constant hard braking
3. Sticking calipers (usually also have a pull to left or right)
4. Worn or out of adjustment rear brakes causing excessive load on front brakes.

97 maxima brake pulseing problem.
I will assume that it is not the ABS kicking in and that you get this pulsing when just slowing down and not jumping hard on the brakes. An unevenly worn or warped brake disc (rotor) or drum is the cause of most pulses felt back through the brake pedal when slowing down. The main cause for warping is due part of the brake mechanism having seized so just changing the disc or drum might only 'cure' the the immediate problem in the short term only to have it return in a few months time. A seizure on one corner of the car usually indicates that all the brake mechanicals could well benefit from a timely inspection and overhaul. Most of brake's assemblies only move a fraction when operating, such as the pistons in the callipers moving a tiny distance to apply the pads to the discs. Corrosion of parts will eventually stop this restricted range of movement. It is a dirty job and not one of my favourites but when I overhaul these items I do it wheel by wheel stripping everything from each hub. I make sure that every part is cleaned, that every joint and piston is forced repeatedly through its full range of movement to remove any restrictions and then I lubricate, where needed, with 'copper-ease' grease.
