I do not know which ipod you have, but here are instructions on how to get a nano in and out of DISK MODE:
To turn iPod Disk mode off:
Toggle the hold switch on and off
Press and Hold the Select and the Menu button for more than ten seconds
The normal selection screen should appear, your iPod is out of Disk mode.
To turn iPod Disk mode on:
Toggle the hold switch on and off
Press and Hold the Select and the Menu button for six+ seconds
Release both buttons when the Apple logo appears
Press and Hold the Select and Play button until the Disk Mode text appears.
If it does not work, you may need to reset your ipod. The following link has extensive instructions on that procedure for many types of ipods. Good luck my friend!
Okay it seems like you might to have to do a Restore. Okay press the Center and top Menu button at the same time together for 5 Seconds then let go. It will boot up properly if not please give us a call at 661-619-5928 or contact us by email at [email protected]

Try holding the menu button and center button at the same time. this should reset the ipod completely. Its a force power up and power down similar to Zapping your PRAM on a computer. this should reset the configurations Hopefully that helps
Your iPod is in Disk Mode. Press and hold the menu and select buttons together until an apple appears. then it should be Ok. More info can be found here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
