Question about Mitsubishi MSH09TW Air Conditioner

Mitsubishi MSH 18NV no heating or cooling

Air conditioner stopped working couple of months ago. No heating or cooling, no fan running.The outdoor unit no running. who can fix it - electrician or the air conditioning & heating professional?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The fact that nothing is coming on indicates that there is possibly a problem with your incomming power supply or wiring to and from the inside evaporator to the outside condenser. If all in good order, suggest you find someone you know who can operate a multimeter and check if there is voltage going to the control board inside the evaporator unit. If there is then almost certainly the control board would need replacement.

Is the heat pump cooling itself down? It is a combination heat pump/air conditioner wall unit.
If a unit is in heating mode the outdoor unit is in cooling mode (outside always does opposite of indoor) after a while if there is a build up of ice on outdoor coil unit stops and puts hot gas through outdoor coil to clear it. The indoor fan stops to avoid and heat loss in area served buy unit once this has been done and indoor unit coil is hot again fan will start. This is the correct operation of the unit to save against bust could and reduced efficiency

Why did SPT Portable Air Conditioner stopped blowing cold air?
Unit needs to be taken apart and washed out , also check to see if motor turns freely by hand , clean base of unit fans / blowers and drain ports / channels . Check outdoor motor to see if bearings are tight or fan overheats and cuts off if so replace outdoor motor .

sounds like the outdoor fan motor and/or capacitor needs replaced. The compressor will run for a short time because the fan is not pulling the heat out of the system, it can cause damage to the compressor if the fan is not repaired, Ruud used a 3uf capacitor rating for the outdoor fan motor, if the motor has been changed make sure the proper capacitor is also changed for the new motor rating.

When calling for heat the outdoor unit fan cuts off and the compressor stays running after about forty seconds.
Actually, for heating mode, the condenser fan works on pressure build up by Fan pressure Switch. If pressure less the fan won't run.

Indoor fan blowing cold air when on heating
The indoor fan will continue to run. When heat pump goes into defrost the outdoor fan stops, the reversing valve switches and the unit is basically working in the cooling mode. In order for you not to feel a blast of cold air in the winter the electric strip heat also comes on so the indoor fan must run while the strip heaters are on.

you have to chaeck if the outdoor unit is running you the t-stat has to call for cooling in turning closing contacts between r and y the pulling in coil at condensor. your outdoor unit is not running

Split unit, I get heat but no cold
I have run into this with the LG brand systems. try shutting power off to the outdoor unit to reset all units. If problem persists, it could have to do with a charge level of refrigerant (freon) or possibly a failed control board.

LG MC07AHR and MA09AH1 do not heat!
What you have is two fans, one for the outdoors and one for the indoors.You indoor fan is not running and it is not a good idea to run your unit. There are several reasons for this fan not to be running, but the most common is that it is bad. AC mechanic or good electrician can check this out.

-Start the unit.
-Press EMERGENCY OPERATION switch.3-minute time delay works.Test run operation operates for 30 minutes.
-Check voltage to terminal block of outdoor unit.Is there 12V DC between 2-1?
-If voltage is presenet check the wiring, compressor contactor outdoor fan motor and compressor.
-If no voltage check voltage to terminal block of indoor unit.Is there 12V DC between 2-1?
-If if voltage is present re-connect the continuity of indoor and outdoor unit connection.
-If no voltage replace the indoor electronic control P.C.
board.
-But also check the coil thermistor sensor and room air thermistor if this two is out of range it can cause the tripping of out door unit. It has the resistance of 8 to 10 k ohms at 25 deg c temp.
