SOURCE: Memory card compatibility

For what it's worth, I know it's not advised to use cards higher than 512kb in an Olympus E-10. I don't know if Olympus have used the same 'card' technology in both cameras, though.

Why will my camera not format an 8GB memory card?

Some electronic devices, including cameras, come with its maximum manageable memory card. And when you use a memory card that's beyond the allowable size this might cause the device to not function properly or do processes/operations slower than normal. This is due to compatibility issues.
That's based on experience since i've tried to use a memory card thats beyond what my old camera model could handle and it made my camera slower in displaying preview, editing and in saving captured images.
I'm not sure if this is what causes your problem. Try it with a lesser memory card size. Also check your camera's user manual to see the memory card sizes that's compatible with the model.
If this doesn't work, i'm sorry i dont have anything else in mind to solve the problem. :)

When I switch it on, I get this error: Memory Stick error C 13:01 camera Sony cyber shot DSC-P73

Hello and Welcome to Fixya
C:13:01 memory stick error message indicates a Self diagnostic message. In C:13:01 the issue may be with the Internal Memory or with the Memory Stick.
To solve it try the following solutions

Format error with the Internal Memory which can be corrected by formatting the Internal Memory.
If it is issue with memory stick then turning the power off and on again or taking out and inserting the "Memory Stick" several times may help in resolving the issue. Error may be because of Unformatted "Memory Stick" which can be resolved by formatting the Memory Stick in the Camera If it not remove by formatting in the camera then connect it to PC and tried to format it again but either FAT instead of FAT32 which is the regular format and then reinserted the memory stick and formatted it with the camara. Now it will be solved if it still exist then it means Memory Stick is broken or not compatible which can be resolved by inserting a new compatible Memory stick
I hope it will help you
Your Rating as Four Thumbs which are given below to this solution will appreciate me
Thanks

Says error on formatting memory card.

Hi,
The camera may display a FORMAT ERROR if the inserted media is not formatted or if the media was formatted on a computer. This error may also display if the inserted media is not supported by the camera.
Try to remove and re-insert the Memory Stick media several times.
Make sure that the inserted Memory Stick media is compatible with the camera. DSCW310 Camera is compatible with the Memory Stick Pro Duo upto 32 GB.
You may also try formatting the Memory Stick media to resolve the issue. Format the Memory Stick media using the FORMAT option in the camera menu.
Formatting will erase all stored data, images, movies, etc., from the Memory Stick media. FORMAT option is available in the Memory Card Tool Menu of the Camera which is in the Settings Menu. Please back up the data by inserting the Memory Stick in the Computer Memory Card slot.
This may also happen if the terminals on the Memory Stick media are dirty. Remove the Memory Stick media from the camera and use a soft dry cloth or pencil eraser to clean the contacts. Make sure there are no residual particles on the Memory Stick media before re-inserting it into the camera.
The data on the Memory Stick media or the Memory Stick media itself is damaged. Try using a different Memory Stick media in the camera.
This should resolve the issue. If the error continues to display, the media may need to be replaced or the camera may require service.

Cannot format my memory card.

Try with a different Memory Card
Try the same Memory card with another compatible device to confirm whether the issue is with the Card or Camera. Please make sure that you're using fully charged battery pack.
Remove the battery and reinsert after 1 minute.
Reset the camera by following the reset procedure from the manual of the Camera.
If the issue persists again, service is required

I have a Kodak easyshare LS443 and when I put in a new picture memory card (bought two of them already), after it says 'format memory card' and I do, it just keeps saying 'reading memory card' and nothing...

Hello,

Make sure that the memory card you used is compatible w/ your camera. If same issue persists after using the compatible card, camera is unable to detect the memory card. Card compartment is defective. call 1.800.235.6325 for repair.

Thanks.

Hp photosmart 2610 won't read my sandisk ultra memory card

Previous solution is the FAIL. Original poster says it works fine in _camera_, but not in _printer_. _Printer_ is the compatibility issue, not camera.

New memory card will not work

this camera is actually really compatible with the 2gb sd card, anything higher will give you that message. since you have the right kind but still won't work - 2 possibilities:

camera memory ready issue > repair necessary
defective card> try another one
