Put the camera (turned on) in normal shooting mode then press the ok/func button (middle of the navigation buttons) at the bottom will appear PROGRAM AUTO push right navigation button so the P illuminates not the AUTO press ok/func. You should now be able to select panorama in the normal shooting mode menu press func/ok then select combine in camera then select ok/func.
Good luck- I fretted over this for two days till finally getting it-and you the manual does not help!!!!!!!!!

Olympus Stylus 850SW viewfinder and photos pink and blurry

Pink photos are usually caused by White Balance being set wrong. You should see in the menu the WB icon. Change the icon to the symbol of the sun. Or.... just reset the camera back to the default settings by going to the camera reset in the menu. If this fails, then your picture sensor is needing to be replaced.

Making panarama pictures putting them together

1. You can use the Auto mode when making panorama pictures. See manual page 23-25.
When using the automatic mode, the camera will make a combined panorama picture.

2. You can use the Manual mode when making panorama pictures. See manual page 23-25.
When using the manual mode you can use the installed Olympus program to make
a combined panorama picture. You can use on the computer the standaard ib program
or the better and free Olympus Viewer 2 program for it.

How to use the panoramic function in my olympus 1050 SW.

I won't say it's in the manual.

Turn the selector to the square "camera" icon (just above AUTO).

Press the Menu button, select Panorama. Choose Combine In Camera 1.

Point your camera at the left or right side of whatever you are taking the picture of and press the shutter button. A flashing icon appears with arrows pointing left-and-right. Pan the camera left or right (your choice) as if to take the next shot in the panorama ... a blinking diamond appears and then a square box - keep moving the camera until the diamond enters the square box, the camera will automatically take the next photo. Move the camera again in the same direction, another diamond and square box appear and the photo is automatically taken as before.

To take another panorama shot, repeat this entire procedure, beginning with the Menu selection.

Panorama Feature on Olympus Stylus 840

Forget the in-pano function and use a free stitching program off the internet. When shooting panoramas, you need to be in aperature priority or manual mode so as to keep the exposure consistant, especially going into the sun or away from it in your pictures. Although this is good practice, it is not needed for a few stitch programs as they average out all the exposures and make the entire pic uniform. This works pretty good in all but the most demanding exposure swings.

I have the Olympus C-4000 Zoom and am having difficulty getting into the panorama mode which I really need for business. What am I not doing right.? Johnston. Spain.

First of all you need to be sure you are using a memory card that is an Olympus card. If it is a non-Olympus card then the panorama option will be disabled to you.

Then go to Menu - Mode Menu - Camera tab - Panorama option and select right arrow. This should enable the panorama mode for the camera.

Cannot select "camera menu" from the Top Menu

If the camera is in Auto mode those items cannot be selected because the camera is already using factory default settings and they cannot be changed, If you press the Ok button and change to P mode then you will be able to access all of those menu settings and make any changes you wish to the camera settings.

I have new olympus 850SW with the required Olympus xD picture card, 1 GB & can't access the in camera panorama...I know I did it once but it is grayed out now - only pano on PC available...I've read...

To access the panorama mode in the camera you need to be in P mode.

To set the P mode you need to press the Ok button right arrow to P for Program Auto and press Ok. Then as long as you are using an Olympus xD card you should be able to go to menu and highlight the Panorama option.

I just purchased a stylus 850sw and I am having a time of it getting the Panorama mode to go to any of the other options other than PC... does this camera need to be set up in a particular way to accept in...

Just called up technical support and got the solution:

Go to "camera" mode, Press "ok/function" then change the setting from "Auto" to "P". It should then work. Shame that's not in manual.

I have a Stylus 850 SW and cannot figure out from the manual how to get to the panorama mode

aprmaejun,

I don't believe this is the solution Icritchi is looking for. The issue (that I also have) is that the panorama mode cannot be selected at all, no matter what setting the dial is on. I've read in one post on Yahoo that this is because the camera needs to have an Olypmus XD memory card (and not one from another manufacturer). Furthermore, the adapter that Olympus provides for a micro-sd card also does not allow you to use the panorama setting. This is complete bulls*it on Olympus's part. What were they thinking!?

Panorama picture

You can easily make panorama pictures with your D-390 by “stitching” together multiple pictures. First, activate the panorama mode on the camera by selecting Mode Menu - Camera - Panorama. Take your pictures while making sure to overlap the edges of the images. Download your pictures to a computer and then use the “Panorama” function in Camedia Master to stitch them together. For more detailed information, please refer to the camera documentation.
