Hello
I am a technician-informatic. I have repaired about 80 Lcd Samsung monitors with theese problems. I offer the repair manual.
Manual has been done with the experience of the repairing Samsung Lcd monitors. Manual was made by me and shows how to open monitor, how
to solve dark screen problem, how to check and replace capacitors, how to solve the problem non-optimal mode (without reprogramming MCU or
changing the main board) photo are included. 100% functional. The repair process is very simple 30-40min. (does not need a lot of
experience in electronics and expensive instruments) and is not expensive. With this manual you can solve problems by yourself and save
money.

"Not Optimum Mode 1280x1024 60Hz"
- The monitor turns on but turns off by itself, the LED blinks green.
- If you detach from the PC points to "control cable" the picture runs continuously in the vertical direction or presents while line , and
as soon as it is reconnected, the monitor goes off.
- The monitor does not turns on and dont dispaly anything, the LED blinks green-lit, if you detach from pc points to "control cable".
- The monitor turns on, works well some time, but after a window apiers "Not optimum mode. Mode recommended 1280X1024 60Hz"
- The monitor turns on, works well only with low resolution 800x600, when try to change a window that reads "Not optimum mode. Mode
recommended 1280X1024 60Hz"

the manual you can find on ebay (my ebay name is asnerejas123):

Try to check if a wire got knocked out or check your video card to see if you have damaged it in some way. If you have a old monitor laying around try to use it to see if it is actually your monitors problem.

My samsung tv turns on but only white screen appears

You can try.. turn on the monitor if it just shows the white screen then turn it off then turn on instantly. Even then, if the screen continues to be white (blank) then turn off the screen, unplug the monitor then again plug it after a minute and check.

I have a Samsung SuncMaster 940BW 19'' LCD Monitor. It's a geat Monitor in my humble opinion in everything, except that since i got it i have one problem with it, and it wasnt possible for me...

This is a common problem with monitors when changing resolution. What probably happened is you may have tried to change the resolution, or an application changed the resolution, to an incompatible resolution.

For example, if you have a tiny little screen it can't display that huge resolution that a 32 inch monitor has. So, your monitor is stuck in that wrong resolution.

To fix this problem, you need to boot into Safe Mode. Restart your computer, and as it is booting up tap F8 a bunch of times, and then select Boot into Safe Mode.

When it boots up, right click on the desktop, click Properties (Windows XP) or Screen Resolution (Windows 7). When the window pops up, click Settings (if on Windows XP, if on Windows 7 skip to next step). From this window, change the resolution back to the basic 800 x 600 screen resolution.

Now, reboot your computer normally. You should be able to see the desktop. Now, you can do the same thing that you did in safe mode and turn up your resolution. BUT, when you change it, if the screen goes BLANK again, DO NOT press anything. After 15 seconds it should go back, and you can try a lower resolution.

Hope this helps! Thanks for using FixYa.

Blank screen the screen has been working for over a year and all of a sudden went blank its not my pc as i plugged my pc into another screen and worked fine.... the standby flashing stops flashing when i...

Since you have tried another monitor with your computer, then we can only assume that your LCD monitor had gone bad.
If the light is green but you can't see anything on the screen, then most likely the backlight has gone bad. Unless you want to take the monitor apart, I would suggest buying a new monitor.

You may have to open it up and look for bad soderling works, see my pictures to see what bad solderign joints look like. Also check fuses, connectors, etc.

I assumed that it does the same with other PC also.

Samsung 940mw monitor ringing then blank screen

Hello,

The Samsung SyncMaster 940MW monitor has an issue with the power supply going out. The flashing power light or not turning on are the classic symptoms of this issue. Check out our web site at: www.ccl-la.com Look on the monitor repair page 2. We have a step by step repair guide posted that will guide to doing the repair yourself. It involves changing a few capacitors on the power supply. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. If you don't want to do the repair we do offer a repair service for $35 plus return shipping. If you have any additional questions just let us know at: [email protected]

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Samsung 931B Monitor Screen will not stay

jane657, Hi there. Will you stop pushing the On/Off button on your lcd/fpd. It's Broke. Period. End. Finito!!! You will not fix it. However there is one test that you should do to determine hoe bad the problem is. You will need to reconnect the 931B to a known good pc that has been fully booted and has the WIN-DESKTOP or IE fixya web page showing. quickly connect the931B to the wall outlet and the PC. Turn on the monitor!!! Yes, I know it will only come on for a second..After the screen goes to BLACK, Shine a bright flashlight onto the screen at different angles, 1-2 inches from the screen. Let me know if you see something even though the screen is black. Anyway here are your options as a consumer/user. 1. Check if unit is under warranty. 2. Check withh Samsung to see if they have a SWAPOUT program. You send them your monitor+$40-$90 and they return a refurbished same model to you with a 30 day warranty. 3. Trade in for new monitor. 4. Check with local TV/Monitor repair guy who knows all there is to know about cold-cathode-fluorescent-tubes, their power-source(inverter type) and lcd monitor power supplys (SMPS) 5. Repair on your own. Not recommended for amatures with no solid state troubleshooting skills and no instrumentation for support. Bye for now. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ aim.com
