I have an Hitachi 46" projection TV, we have been having problems with it shutting down on its own. If you run the Tv with no inputs (dish or DVD) it will run fine. As soon as you change to say input 3 for the dish it will shut down anywhere from a few minutes later to half an hour later. It will continue to do this more frequently. We have had the repair man look at it in their shop. They had it hooked up to cable and it never shut down. We brought it home and are having the same problems. When the power goes out, you can use the remote and change the channel or increase the volume and when you turn it back on the channel will be different and the volum adjusted. I have no idea why the TV is turning off when we are trying to use the dish or DVD player, any ideas?
Thanks
Donnie
Sounds like tuner isuues could be worng but thats what it sounds like to me or in that general curcuit somwhere...
hello there well to answer your question would it still work if it worked in the shop on cable....im my experiences with sets and customers i have learned that how many times have people taken things for repair just to find out that the problem did not exist.....sometimes shops do not leave things running long enough to anylyze the problem ......anyhow the answer to your question would be yes cause the tuning section in a tv has many curcuits and thus making some of them work and some not........may be that its only working iin a specific area and not in the other.....and the cost for such a part would cost in a range between 100 TO 300 ..sometimes when it becomes to costly depending on what the cost of the set is people have found out it would be wiser just to buy a new set...and have a warranty on it then to just replace a defective costly part just top find out that the part was just as expensive as a brand new set.....ive seen people say na its cheaper just to go out and but a new one ....i know walmart sell,s sets pretty cheap and there not too too bad........hope this helps ya

Would it still be the tuner if it is working at their shop on straight cable? I have no idea. Do you know how much a a new tuner is for this model?
Thanks again
