HP R707 wont take pictures - get F2.8 1/60 message

When I press the shutter button, nothing happens. If I press and hold it for about 5 seconds it displays F2.8 1/60 on the bottom of the screen. Before this happened it was slow to take the pictures. You had to press often before it would take the pic.
This problem showed up shortly after changing batteries. Could it be a software glitch? I have reset the process to no avail.
Everything else seems works OK.
Any suggestions?
Jeff

Does it work while connected to charger? If yes, you need a new battery.

The camera went blank and I changed the batteries and now the lens is stuck half open and the camera does not work

Same thing happened to mine. Here is one fix.
Remove battery and any memory card. Then press the on/off AND shutter buttons at same time several times. Reinstall battery or plug into wall and it should work again. JUST fixed mine today. Good luck. Henry

Everything works....but hit shutter button & it goes dead.

Hold the power button in the ON position for 10 seconds, then release (obviously making sure the batteries are in first). This forces the camera to do a full reset - you will have to set the time etc when it restarts.

Hope this helps, it worked for me...

Shutter not closing when taking photo

Try to take video or take picture in dark conditions. If video records correctly, then the CCD sensor is broken. Contact HP and ask if they would repair it for free.

No picture taken when shutter release is pressed

if you see no reation of the pressing of the button i.e. no focusing, no error message nothing , then most probably a simplest problem , the shutter release button may not be working for few reasons : 1) defective switch. 2) defective flex cable. 3) camera exposed to some physical jerk or dropping resulting into disalingment between inner switch and the shutter release button.
