Glo Warm propane heater won't light

Unit is not new (I bought it 5 years ago) but has never been used. I have a 100lb bottle and a 25 ft hose off the regulator connected to the unit. The pilot will light but the flame is extremely small and doesn't come anywhere near the thermocouple. I tried adjusting the regulator but I can't get the size of the pilot to change. If I heat the thermocouple with a lighter the main gas will come on but the unit goes out as soon as the thermocouple cools off.

I just had this problem, which might be the same. It is the thermocoupler, which DESA tells you they no longer have. So I had to buy a new one, and did not buy from DESA. Mine was only 6 years old and used once in a while.

There is really not a lot to go wrong with the heater itself so my first guess would be that the regulator is bad, not letting the proper amount of gas through. You can check it for leaks with a bottlee of soapy water but even if you don't see a leak there is a rubber gasket inside with a pressure spring that is probably bad.

Glo Warm propane heater. What size of cord goes on it please?

Nothing I read shows that it has a mains cord. It is a very basic wall heater, no lights, no electric ignition, and it has a pilot light and thermocouple.

I Need to know whaat type of regulator is need for model ssu320rhl-gb Please

Here is a link to the owners manual and page 8 and 9 tell you about the regulator.

http://www.northerntool.com/downloads/manuals/177883.pdf

You need to a 8-11WC regulator for propane and if you are using natural gas you will want to keep the pressure between 3-10WC

If this is connected to a propane bottle you want o use at least a 100lb bottle.

Thanks

Century Dyna-Glo Propane Construction Heater, fan stays on?

The heater is designed to continueously run the igniter , so as if there is a flame-out ,it will reignite the burner, and not dispurse unburned gas into your enviroment.
