Casio EX-S600 Battery does not charge

The red light on the cradle starts blinking, I thought it had to stay on whilst charging. I only charged the camera about six weeks ago and have not used it since. It is absolutely dead, even in the cradle there is no response to any controls.

Battery in cradle don't charge

Two reasons. Either the battery is dead or the cradel's charging circuit is faulty. But the red light shows that the cradle is fine. SO, the axe falls on the battery.

My Casio Exilim EX-S880 wont turn on. Battery is dead but the camera wont charge on the charger. The red charger light is flashing when then camera is placed on it. This red light used to stay on...

I found this while trying to solve my exact same problem.. It worked for me after about 7 times. Some other people on the site said it worked for them after 20 times. Good luck!

My NP 20 gave me the flashing red light of death and I got Casio to replace it. Then I had the same problem with my second NP 20 so I dug around for a way to fix it and I found the following advice on a site called FixYa. It worked instantly and I didn't risk ruining my battery.

I had the same problem as this.
what i did was...
i kept putting the battery on the charger then took it off as soon as the red light came on.
i did this about 6 times.
doing this puts a bit of charge in the battery each time before the charger starts to flash.
after the battery as got enough charge in it it can start to charge.
hope this helps.

Battery will not charge

Here is how you fix the problem (without using a 9V battery method...).

The battery doesn't charge because it's been fully discharged.

What you do is you put the camera into the cradle. Now you see that the Red LED comes on solid for a while. It's charging for a few seconds. Then it starts blinking. When it does that - TAKE THE CAMERA OUT of the cradle.

Now put the camera back and repeat. Do this six or eight times. Each time what's happening is that the battery is getting a tiny bit of charge. After 8 times the LED will come on red and stay solid red.

Bingo, no problem!

Auto Focus not working

First off your blinking battery light means you have a faulty battery and you need to have that replaced. Call tech support and they will replace that for you. Once that is charged up all the way then hopefully the camera will work properly for you. If not try resetting it.

Casio Ex-S600 (Exilim Digital Camera)

The NP20 battery that your camera requires is not taking a charge because of a "charge error". Please contact tech support and give them your address and they will replace the battery free of cost for you.

Flashing Red LED charging light

You can salvage your old battery. Sounds crazy but you can take a 9 volt battery and jumper it to the old battery . It will put enough charge in the np-20 to make it start charging in the cradle. Takes about 20 seconds.. make sure you go + to + .. the size of the 9 volt fits perfectly.

Battery will not hold a charge.

Casio says:

Red blinking light = defective battery

No flashing light = possible defective charger.

What you can do is send all your stuff into casio and they will test everything for you and see what they could replace for you.
