Unlike Norton, AVG, and McAfee; Malwarebytes is friendly and noninvasive. The others mess up a great deal of time and they FIGHT each other. Never use more than one Antivirus program at a time. Make sure to download NIC drivers and save to pen drive or disc. Check HP site. Then you can install any OS if you don't have the recovery disc. Companies usually don't offer full downloads of recovery software.

If you are in love with Norton.... Personally I use Avast the free version and have foudn it very good. Just look out for it on the internet. As regards Norton, if you do not have a cd then you must have downloaded an installation file and saved that somehwere, if not I am sure that if you are a registerd user you could still downlad it again if it is still covered byt the licence you paid for.

I don't think you have a virus, Norton 360 is a very good antivirus program and would have caught it. Try disabling all of the Norton 360 features then load the Windows XP disc. Sometimes anti-virus programs interfere with the processs. I am assuming you have the Windows XP original disc. This should work.

if you brought it online you should have gotten a product key, and serial number. if you google "norton 360 redownload" it should take you a norton page or symantec page. enter "redownload norton 360" in search box and it should go right to it. now just enter product key and serial number and you should be good to go. ihave restored my computer a number of times and this is how i get my norton 360 back without paying again. hope i helped
