Whirlpool Electric Range RF362LXTB caught fire

While using the cooktop, flames began to shoot from the back of the stove. After we put out- noticed the entire box at the rear base of the stove was melted solid. Range is 15 months old. (Warranty is 12 months)

Called the electrician who tested the outlet and it is fine.

Is this worth being repaired? Any recourse with manufacturer?

I am dealing with the same exact issue as you. 16 month old RF362LXTB. Back buss bar red wire is melted along with the plastic. Looks like it broke away from the plastic and shorted out on the cover. Tripped the breaker as well. My understanding is that you should replace the breaker as well since this was a short.

Does model XFG371LVQ Whirlpool stove have air adjustment for top burners?

Remove the front panel to find where the gas injectors enter the burner tubes you will see they are cut away and have a screw holding an outer ring which is adjustable, open them up more to get more air in .

Boil element caught on fire and melted.

If element caught on fire, I would suspect stove needs cleaning. Do that then elements should not smoke for long. (I hope all moisture was removed from stove!!!)

Fame to low on my whirlpool stove

You mean the flame is low. You need to clean the burner jet hole orifice and also check if their is a gas pressure regulator which you can adjust the pressure a lithe more higher.

Stove sparks but doesn't light

Hello,

If gas flows and burner sparks, the holes in burner near where the electrode(spark plug) is are clogged. A safety pin or paper clip pushed through those burner holes will clear the blockage

Good luck
I hope this helps,if it does please give me a 4 thumbs up rating&and perhaps a testimonial :)
