Roady XT cannot hear stations over static, other XT fine

Have two Delphi Roady XT's, two home kits, and two car kits. I have never had it plugged in to anything other than our home and car kits.

Recently one radio stopped displaying "Frequency" option in truck, and when docked in home kit "Frequency" option is there but all I can hear is static. However, if the stereo volume is cranked up I can hear the station playing faintly in the background.

I have tried resetting to factory defaults, changing frequency, cleaning, unplugging/plugging, powering down/up ... and even letting it 'rest' off the dock for weeks now.

I have another Roady XT and it is working fine in this home kit, the home kit we have in the shop, and in the truck and car.
So, is it one garbage and, I believe obsolete?
I can't believe Delphi doesn't even have repair centers for any of their products...charming!

Yes, I did try direct plug-in and this did not fix it either. Disappointed.

SOURCE: Delphi Roady XT Quit Working

This sounds like the problem I posted about the a/c adapter. The radio doesn't get enough power because the scr in the a/c adapter is failing.

SOURCE: roady xt and car kit under warranty but part is obsolete

Wow, sounds like a tough break, Personally I would take the XM offer, or perhaps look at Ebay for a new dock. YOu can go throught the warranty process with delphi they usually are simple enough to deal with, but that will be a long process. Wiring it into the radio is still going to require a working dock, and most stock car radios dont have an input. Some will say AUX input or XM ready on them. Now if your car has a tape deck you might try one of those handy tape adaptors that plugs from your dock to your tape deck. You can pick those up at your local electronics store for 10-20 dollars, and they work pretty well. Hope that helps Let me know there is anything else I can do

SOURCE: No FM Frequency option

I had the same problem with all three of my Roady XTs. I posted a video with directions for solving the problem on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGMWf0aUTjw

Basically, you just need to have the antenna unplugged when you power up, and push menu right away, then select. Not sure why, but it worked on all of my Roady XTs. On the oldest one I had to push menu more than once. Good luck!

SOURCE: does not work when docked in boombox, not getting

the "reactivate" did not take in it's entirety, try calling sirus/XM again and see if they will "reboot it again, this time try having it the docking station within antenna "range", and both should "reboot", let me know if this fixes the problem, if not I have some friends there I can call, and we'll go from there, god bless and happy 4th......

I can hear a soft squealing noise when my Roady is in the home dock. Also it starts changing stations randomly by itself. Any suggestions?

If you're using XM Direct to input channels, press the select key after tuning to the channel. If you're not, perform a factory reset. The squealing noise is because of interference with your speakers, it's normal (unless you don't hear any music).

Roady XT "Antenna" problem

one of 3 things, either your antenna is not insight of a skies view to receive the signal, or its wire is broken at the antenna, but if you remove the antenna connection frequently it pulls the center wire out of the connection on the end that fits into the radio when its plugged in push on the conductor at the back of the plug and see if this helps, alos if connection is loose take a safety pin and carefully between the outer plug case ans the ground fingers around the center pin push these in so you get a better ground, and lastly try another substitute antenna, I have re-soldered my connections numerous times to fix this issue, delphi doesn't make a very rugged product, good luck

My Delphi Roady XT will not maintain signal

if you plug and unplug your antenna connection to the receiver a lot it loses the ground(shielded) line connection, if your lucky you can take a safety pin and CAREFULLY bend the radios 4 outer shell antenna contacts inward to make contact with the antenna connector, if its the plug on the antenna, try pushing wire in toward plug connection to the radio...delphi never had much for life on any external products that fit their XM radios but when you need repl parts boy are they waiting for you, and they got them

Roady 2 signal goes in and out....

We've been having the same problem with our Roady XT unit at the office. Sometimes I think it's possessed because it goes in and out, changes to the mute mode, and sometimes turns itself off. Just got another Roady XT unit today. It played fine, then went into the mute mode. Called XM and they told me to reset unit to factory default. It's fine at the moment.

Roady xt

i figured it out with help from a delphi service rep.! you need to go into the menu and reset to factory default.this will erase everything you have changed from the factory settings, but once done you can reprogram your settings and they will stay. step 1-enter menu step 2-reset factory default settings step 3-reprogram your preset stations,FM freq. colors etc. step 4-use power button on the roady to turn it off.once the roady shuts down turn it back on with the power button. step 4-now you should be able to turn the key off without erasing your presets.

Delphi Roady XT Quit Working

Chances are it's not picking up the XM signal. First, contact XM to resend your setup. if that doesn't work check your antenna connections.
