Excessive static on the line

I've had my model KX-TGA931 T for several weeks, and from the beginning I get major static on the line when I'm on a call. It's almost impossible to hold a conversation over the static. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Are there other channels available that I could switch to? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for those great ideas. However, I've tried all those things and none of them worked. I can't figure out what the problem could be! I do have DSL, but have filters on the phone lines.

Try turning the phone on then off. then if that doesn't fix it try touching the phone to discharge static buildup.

Perhaps the phone line is loose in the phone or the wall?

New issue after a few years of good service, very heavy static on all phones in the system. It is not the DSL filter, as i tried a new one.

Is it possible that the DSL line is filtered outside or the phone jack is defective? Has anything changed recently? Try isolating the DECT 6.0 phone system. Otherwise, consider replacing it with a 5.8 GHz system. I have a the same system (the Panasonic KX-TGA402N -- the three pack, a old 900 MHz cordless answering phone, several Bluetooth devices, and a 2.4 GHz wireless router (Linksys WRT54G2.) I have no noise problem. If you can't determine the source of the interference, I assume you already replaced the phone system.

NEED USER MANUAL FOR KX-TAG931S PHONE HANDSET What I really need is how do I make the incoming call go to Voice Mail without it ringing 4 times.

You may download the KX-TGA931 manual from http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/KX-TGA931T?support

The number of rings is controlled by the answering machine or voicemail system on your phone line. It cannot be changed from the handset. Please refer to the documentation for whatever answering machine or voicemail system you have.

If you require further assistance with the answering machine or voicemail system, please tell us the make and model.

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

I believe the number you've provided may be the part number to the charging base which the phone sits in. Check to make sure. Panasonic phones that use this base (usually) begin with the letters KX-TG

You may have a KX-TG8521 or a KX-TG8523. Again, please verify the exact phone model you have then re-post a NEW question with the correct phone model. Thanks!

Static on my pair of Uniden cordless phones (Model DECT1560)

Is your base near a computer or other electronics? Also, make sure your microwave is not on. I get static if I do any of those things.

Static on line

Does the static stay on the line after the called party answers? Is the static on incoming and outgoing calls on any phone?if the answer is yes to the above questions, check your house jacks for corrosion. There are a number of things that can cause static inside your house and outside. From the interface box on your house where the wires come from a pole or from under ground is phone company problem. From the box into the house is your problem,so the easy solution is to make the phone company come out and determine from what side the static is coming from. There is usually no charge for this unless you have them come into your house if the problem is there.

Incoming calls loaded with static and I cannot hear them clearly

Try connecting line 2 where 1 is connected. If there is no static it is youre system ie phone itself. If there is static there is definately a problem with youre line. Static can usually be attributed to old lines that the moisture barrier has been compramised. If the line is under youre house or in the walls you may have to pay for it. But if it is the companys line it is their issue.
