Symbol mc70 wireless profile copy

I have multiple Symbol/Motorola Mc 70's. One of them is configured for a wireless connection (wlan) with TKIP encryption. Now I want to copy this profile to all Mc70's. I did export Options and Profiles, copied them to my pc, and copied both back to an empty Mc70. Still I don't have the pre-configured wireless connection available on this new Mc70. What's the best way to copy Profile's and settings?

Does it respond to keyboard entry? If not, check to see if the "lock" icon on the screen is in the locked position. It's real easy to accidentially lock the device. If it is, just click on the lock and confirm that you want to unlock.

The next few can be a problem if the screen is not responding, so you'll need to figure out the keyboard equivalent:

You may also want to check the system settings. I believe there is a setting that will enable you to "turn off" the touch screen function.

Finally, try a touchscreen alignment in the system settings.

SOURCE: On my PDA MC70 it is showing WI-FI "unavailable"

This can get kind of complicated, and your wireless carrier may block this depending on the data plan. It's also different for the MC7095 (CDMA) and MC7094 (GSM/GPRS) models. You may also want to see if your device BSP release is up-to-date.

Here is some basic info for the MC7095 (Sprint):

Device was not connected to network to start.
Went to Start, Programs, Internet Sharing, tapped Connect, showed Status: Check USB connection. Internet Sharing drivers were installed on laptop computer, then device displayed Internet Sharing Status "Connected". We were able to browse the web on the laptop computer. Closed out of Internet Sharing (tap X on upper right hand corner). On device, tapped Start, Internet Explorer, attempted to browse to a webpage. Able to browse on both laptop computer and MC7095 device.

Note: Attempted to Disconnect the Internet Sharing session, unable to. The device does not appear to respond to the "Disconnect" option on bottom left of screen. When tapping "Disconnect" the option light up as if being tapped however the device itself shows no other changes and Status still displays :Connected.
***FYI*** In testing with a different MC7095 (BSP33) we experienced the same issues with not being able to "Disconnect" the Internet Sharing session.

SOURCE: My symbol MC70 does not come on after going into

If you're sure there is not a system setting that could be the cause, just try a power cycle - hold the power button for a couple seconds (not long enough to cold boot), then hit it again to turn it on.

You may also want to check your internal and external battery life to see if the device is shutting down to conserve power.

One other strange thing we've found with some devices (in particular, if you're having trouble turning the device on) we've found that just removing the battery and reinserting, or swapping it with another, can sometimes, on rare occasion, resolve some power issues.

I believe there was a known issue with one of the BSP releases (3.9?), so this may be the cause. Contact MOT to determine if the one you have could have been affected and ask them to fix it. You can try to upgade the BSP on your own, but it can be a hassle.

Good luck

Can't get MC 70 to work; can't get text file with our inventory into the MC70

Hi,The fastest way to do this is to download the DataWedge software free form the Motorola website. You can then scan code directly into any file that excepts text based input.
To get the text file on to the unit i would recommend an SD card. or setup Active Sync to sync a Pocket Excel File to your desktop.
If you need some software writing with some specific requirements. Please call Pen Mobile (google us)

How do I connect my N410 symbol bar code scanner (running on Windows Mobile) to my wireless router?

If you have a model with Wireless functionality, can you use the Fusion application to manage your wireless connection. There should be an icon in the right corner.
You need to find out which authentication and encryption is used on the specific WLAN.
Then launch through clicking on the Fusion icon the Find WLANs dialog and follow the process of creating of new WLAN Profile.

I have a mc 70 handheld scanner but for some reason the laser used to be a line and now it is a dot pointing to the left. Any suggestions on what is causing this

Hello bret crossm. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But when your laser goes from a line to a dot, it is indicative of the scan engine failing. If you know how to fix these, then it will be as simple as getting a new scan engine and replacing it. If not, then you'll want to call Motorola/Symbol or the vendor you purchased your MC70 from and see about it's warranty or just getting it repaired. I wish I had better news for you, but on the bright side: It is a pretty painless fix. I hope this helps. Good luck!
